1. As every one else has already said. The side dots are enough and you get used to it pretty quickly. Its all in your muscles anyway. But far more importantly - No one will pick it up and try and have a fiddle and it just looks so damned cooler. A
2. Back in the day I used the Dean Markley 10-52 set. No issues at all. Loved that heavy deep sound you get out of them. A
3.
Just realised that, despite playing 99% fretless for 27 years, I hardly ever slide.
Then your doing it wrong A
4. All good stuff in my view whether you like the styling or not. I love the Atom ones. Its a new technology and it will find its level eventually. However for the price I would expect a better resolution than that. The step marks are a bit obvious and big on the front body curve. Dont let them tell you its a design thing! A
5. Give a man a few planks of wood and a bag of magnets! Beautiful engineering at its best. A
6. A touch of Chorus works wonders IMO and its not just the slides that make it unique. Theres the vibrato to. You'll feel free as a bird once you get into it. Exellent choice in the VM btw. Very good basses indeed. A
7. Quote: "T-shirts-UK is a UK Company and all items are either Licensed or Unique concepts created by us and which we hold all legal copyright theirin" Hmmm Fightin talk! A Edit: Beaten to it!!
8.
Egg and Mushroom go quite well together. CB
Egg mushroom and avocado. Hmmm I know what Im having for breakfast A
9. You can boil one with a plank of wood and a wilkinson pickup and I bet you cant taste the difference. A
10. If you tuned it high enough you could microwave it! A
11.
Ha! I can assure you it was all above board! I'm not going to lie for these companies, they pay me nothing, and I get the same whether I think it's good or bad - Nothing (Other than a small amount of money depending on how many people have watched). Guys, please subscribe and spread the word! I would actually like it to make a little bit of money, as I am pretty strapped for cash atm.
??? Not what I was talking about at all Mate I was just pointing out that you didnt show how easy it was to put on and off the neck quickly since this is a common occurance in gigs. The bit about changing the name was a joke because you would have to add 10 seconds to your 80 to show this. Hence the '9t2nds' Geddit? A
12. Exellent stuff I do like concise. However one subtle omission. There is no shot of you actually putting the thing on and off the neck. That, in my view, is a fundimental factor when using one. Might be an idea to add a bit in showing that. Then changing the title, link, domain, everything to 9t2nds A
13. But does the picture match the tunes? You might be doing a cover of 'Wannabe' on the night A
14. Well I reckon that was pretty dire! Sorry but Heart did the first bit and the last but all the rest was done by a cast of thousands. It was more west end show than rock and roll. To cap it all you have an audience of penguins gently nodding thier heads to one of the greatest, most powerfull rock tunes ever written. Never been a fan of Heart as such but yes 'Alone' is brilliant. Great song and boy can they sing etc. Nah sorry A
15. I think its actualy a Gibson. Only Gibsons look like your grandparents old furniture. A
16. GHS Briteflats for me. Nice and smooth but still have a growl about them. They still leave a bit of a mark on the fingerboard but nothing compared to rounds. They last a bit longer than rounds but then every brand is different. I tried Roto halfrounds and hated them. Rough as nuts! A
17. Hmm Havent been to Brizzle for a while................. Thanks for the heads up A
18. While John Easts costs might seem initially high if you talk to him he is very reasonable with bespoke work. Give him a bell. There could be the option of a second hand U-Retro and sending it off to John for the set up you want? All the other options involve buying something thats not what you want! Although I will vouch for the Audere Preamps. Quality costs but it pays for itself in the long run. And Buy cheap buy twice. A
19.
and a tow truck for after the pub?
No way!! The 30 mile cycle back will sober you up ready for the evening
20.
ok, that makes more sense... I thought you were just being overenthusiastic and could not wait etc etc I had already told you that a copy would be making your way as soon as it's official (28th April nearly there!) I thought the only thing that was not quite clear yet is whether I would post it or I might be able to deliver in person I'll email soon
Coolio Im way ahead of you - already planned the cycle route with a nice pub at the end for Sunday dinner A
21. And to answer your question yes it must be a real pain since its fresh for everyone else but youve been over it and disected it a million times already and moved on. But hey its something in the bag and youve got your name on it. No one can take that away so good on yah! I would agree live you have more energy even in the pared down version I saw but live v record is always like that and the brass brings a different element to it all. But still you do have the musicality and querckyness to your sound which works for me A
22.
oh, have you? thank you!!! I had no idea you could preorder it yet! Is that through bandcamp? If so, that will be the electronic version. Once we have the physical CD in our hands we will enable the physical CD sales thingy. The band wanted to enable it already, but killjoy that I am I vetoed it and said that until we have it in our hands we should not do it... just in case. The CD is good... but it already feels dated to me, I'm sick of it and it has not come out yet! I wonder if every band feels the same way about their albums. I also don't think it really captures what we do live. Part of it is because the songs we recorded were part of our older set, which did not even have trumpet. Dima, the trumpet player joined at the right time and he quickly added trumpet to the songs... but in the past year and something we have written a lot of songs and we have already "evolved" a little and sound much better (in my opinion). Can't wait for the second album!
Yay! Bring it on I do believe my 'preorder' was through your good self! But if I have to que up with the rest of the hoi palloi then so be it!!
23. Stonking album and even better live. Ive pre ordered mine already. Go buy it. Good luck with the launch Jose
24. Had a very rough G in a set of RS66EL's. Emailed Rotosound and John Doughty replied with a 3 paragraph reply explaining everything including how the bass string market worked!! He sent a replacement G and another full set. How good is that!! Damn good company. A
25. And another fanboy here. Ive got a S/H Jretro in one jazz and a special Uretro + Piezo in another. John sorted out the special for me and didnt charge the earth. He went out his way to keep the costs down without skimping on quality. Even sent me an atenuator at cost to sort out a little miss match in levels. Great to communicate with to. He is very happy to explain the whys and wherefores which is a breath of fresh air. 10/10 for him. He deserves a knighthood for that midsweep alone A
