Out of the recent flurry of female solo singers which have graced our charts and air waves, I think Ellie Goulding is indeed my favourite. Much respect for her, being a multi-instrumentalist and genuinely talented musician, and furthermore she comes across as a down-to-earth, "normal" character, where her success seems to come from her own talent and hard work; not just from a manufactured persona and reliance on sheer good looks alone, not that she lacks them of course.

There you go, thats a pretty recent article, not the highest resolution, but you can indeed see one of the little green blighters in his rack. Not to derail the thread too much, I think you can happily get that sound by combing Octave>Fuzz>Filter as suggested by bobbass4k (which would be my method of choicd), or you could cop it using a Bass Micro Synth.

To be fair, love them or hate them, Chris still uses the BSW live in his pedalboard. I'ma have a look for recent board shots proving so, I know that they exist.

I am a BIG fan of this mod. May give it a go myself...

+1 to the above. The Korg Pitchblack is another popular design in a similar price bracket, mostly thanks to its' true bypass.

Fantastic gig last Friday at The Library, Leeds, oncemore at the 360 Club. Absolutely packed out, great crowd response (and resulting free drinks), but more excitingly, twas filmed for BBC Introducing and recorded for BBC Radio Leeds. Can't wait to see the footage! A camera phone photo may have to suffice for the time being:

The latency on the GT-6B was a massive dealbreaker for me. -
Thanks guys. Anyone that ends up around Nottingham is more than welcome to bring a bass, plug in and try it's synthy goodness...
Oh yeahhh? *Checks train fare from Birmingham to Nottingham...* -
It's not a great pedal, but it does low gain sounds quite well IMO.
I totally agree with you. I keep thinking of gettind rid of mine in favour of a Fulltone Bass Drive, but it still seems to provide an acceptable overdrive.
-
This is brilliant, best of luck to you Shep in your endeavour. If I were to bet on the outcome however, I do not think that the odds would be in your favour...

Floor-based preamp/DIs - what're the options?
EskimoBassist replied to Ian Savage's topic in Effects
MXR M-80. Used for live and in the studio for two years now, great pedal. Very versatile EQ section, seperately switchable distortion circuit (with an included noise gate) and a clean DI. -
What are you listening to right now?
Did you get your pre-order early, or have you been naughty? I really wish I could have afforded the pre-order, I'll pick it up when i can afford it.
I pre-ordered the Ep with the T-Shirt package, but as the manufacturing messed up and not enough copies were going to be available to fulfill the all the pre-orders, so to compensate, 65DOS sent us all out a direct download link and then later the CD, when it became available. Listen to the free download from the EP, PX3, cracking tune! -
Did you support Kassius?
No, Not Great Men were the headline act I think.

The new 65DAYSOFSTATIC EP, "Heavy Sky". Absolutely brilliant, nicely follows on from "We Were Exploding Anyway". -
Really good gig last night in Leeds, upstairs in The Library. Absolutely packed and enough money to justify the travel from Birmingham.

I use a Diago Powerstation with two daisy chains, very happily powers all 11 of the pedals I've got on my board at the moment. Alternatively Johnny Shredfreak make a clone which goes for less than half the price. Obviously you are looking for a Multi unit, aside from ordering something custom (SFX would be a good bet), and although I would suggest you just to use single stomps, I myself use a M-80, Multi-Comp, Phaser and a Chorus together, perhaps you should look to the Zoom B2.1. I'm all about single units though.
-
Yeah Zoom are good. I think there's a Korg AX3000B going cheap on here - a very good cheap intro to Multi FX
+1 on the Korg, I used one for years, live and in the studio. Great unit, so many versatile sounds. Works well with individual stomp boxes too if you feel the need to expand.

What's the pitchblack + like then? Worth the money for the extra features? -
+1 on the Morley Have a look see, great pedal: http://www.morleypedals.com/dfxb.html They come up on Fleabay every now and then for reasonable cash monies, cross your fingers and you might get lucky.
