GT-6B

The GT-6B is perhaps the best Bass Multi Effects Processor around and in my opinion totally justifies its' seemingly high price tag, considering its' plethora of decent FX and its' versitility. Personally i do not use one, i play with a Korg AX3000B, which i actually prefer and its cheaper, with direct access to all your presets in the same way the Boss does. However, i think it is worth looking at some of the Line 6 Bass Gear as well, the Live XT is very good for example, especially with the emulated DI etc. To be honest it is all down to personal choice, i would believe the Boss would be the most popular out of the three i have mentioned, but that doesnt mean its best for you! I'd get to a decent guitar shop and have a play around, see what you like. Please don't discount the Korg pedal despite its' price, it's a bloody good pedal, deffinitely worth a look in. I use mine in conjunction with other stomps and it's fantastic! If you ARE worried about price though i'd check the forums on here and have a look on Ebay for some prime second hand gear. BassChatters are good to deal with ! Rich
2. Hey there! That's a beautiful bass, and if i do remember correctly i was going to buy that very bass and i would've done if i hadn't already bought one from sound control in newcastle that very day! Playing well? I should think so! I really should've looked in RockBox before i went through to newcastle, but there you go! Rich
3. That MESA amp is beautiful! I used one in the studio and it had such a beautiful sound, good choice!
4. First Bass ey! What a nice little topic It would be a Stagg BC300 in a gaudy black finish with tribal fret markers. The action was appalling and the neck was so slow! Thank god i now own two proper basses, but everyone's gotta start somewhere!! Rich
http://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/shop/view_p...ct=kormicrokorg sorely tempted to buy one of these for use on stage for some songs, does anyone have any experience with these? Thanks! BOB
These are an absolutely fantastic piece of kit! Ive only tried them out (extensively i may add) in the shop, but i was heartily impressed with it. The vocoder is great fun! I think they're worth every penny, so even better if you get one second hand.

7. Hey Well i am a massive Rage and Audioslave fan and i must quote Commerford as one of my bass heroes. Hence i would love to be able to emulate his beautiful gritty sound. What pedals would you suggest from experience could bring me close to getting that, please? I do understand that his unique sound is the combination of his handwired pickups, his crazy amp/effects setup and his homemade distortion unit, but even so i would love to be able to play with such a fantastic tone. I play a Fender Jazz if that helps! Thanks alot for reading/helping! Rich
8.
It appears you have been grossly misinformed about the sound of epi t-birds. You should try one for yourself before repeating such nonsense.
I have an Epiphone Thunderbird and in some ways i actually prefer its sound to my USA Fender Jazz. I couldnt recommend the bass anymore highly, ofcourse the neckdiove and its' shear weight is something to think about, but i believe these are only minor set backs. IT SOUNDS FANTASTIC!
9. I just bought a Boss GEB-7 from him for a fantastic price. Its practically brand new, in tip top condition, with a new battery and arrived just over a Day after payment. I can't fault his communication either, which was brilliant. I would mst deffinately deal with him again and i highly recommend him for any others to make transactions with.

11.
The GodLyke PowerAll and the Rocktron DC OnTap come with a bunch of adaptors so I guess the one you need would be there... You can also buy many adaptors fom OneSpot I think. I suppose Diago might do it too, check their site, and maybe that guy here that makes cables, can't remember his name...
Thanks alot mate! Yeah turns our Diago do make them!
12. Hey I am looking eventually to purchase some form of multi pedal power for my Fx Pedals. Hence i am looking at getting a powerbank or some kind of powerbrick. I do not want to spending a fortune on pedals! However i am utterly confused. On Ebay there are many different choices ofcourse, however so far i am split between the 6 Output SoundLab power supply and the 5 Output Power supply. In all honesty it appears that the 5 output older model is better built. I will be looking to run about 4/5 pedals from it, so i suppose either would work. Does anybody have any experience with either of these pedals? Or infact would you suggest buying a daisy chain, although these seem a little procarious to me, especially as i will be running a Big Muff from it, which ofcourse does not ave the standard Boss Power input. I have too considered the Gator G-Bus and the Jim Dunlop Brick PSU, but i wont be running any 18v untis, so i discounted them from the equation, however i could be easily swayed back towards the G-Bus if it is considerably better than either of the afformentioned SoundLab units. Any help and feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks alot!! Rich

14.
So he controls the stomp boxes with that Rocktron? How does that work?
'Tis a MIDI controller, so im guessing each of his FX pedals are linked through some main base unit seperately and then the RockTron unit will control at the tap of a switch the combination of whihc FX are on at each time. www.rocktron.com Hope that helps! Wow this thread is quite popular isnt it!!
15. Thanks alot, that does shed alot of light on things. Unfortunately, both times ive seen them i havent been close enough to get a good look at his board, but RockTron controllers must make his life so easy!!
16. Hey Ive got myself a Big Muff and of course it is AWESOME! However, i dont want to just use a single adaptor or the official EH supply to power it. I have a few other pedals and i am using a PowerBank to power them, you know like the Dunlop Bricks, but only with standard 9v outputs. I dont want to get it modded so that it has the same power supply system as persay BOSS pedals, but there MUST be an adaptor somewhere so that it would be compatible with standard power supplies as used with BOSS units. I could just use batteries, but that would be so expensive. As i said i love my Big Muff so im gonna be using it ALOT! Sorry i bet this was really confusing Thanks anyway for the continued support of other users, you guys have been giving me some great advice!! Many Thanks, Rich
17. Hey I know that he uses Rocktron midi controllers, but all the same, does anyone have any High Resolution images of it or preferably the actual stomps whihc he uses? If so could you please post them! I think it would be pretty cool to start a "Gear of the Stars" thread or something, hahha how cheesy. Thanks anyway Rich
18. Bass heroes? Honestly Chris Wolstenholme or Tim Commerford, but there are far more technical and gifted Bass Players out there. Would be awesome to be in Muse or RATM though!
19.
PM Replied to.
Also PM'd you right back!
20.
Aha! The only distortion pedal I've stuck with for any great length of time. I love the sound from this pedal. The ODB3 is the sort of starter distortion pedal in my opinion. It's a place to start, if only to decide what is and what isn't good. Jam jars, wasps, say no more.
Just bought one new for £30 (boss odb-3) its not bad like, but yes very waspy at higher gain settings
21. THANKS! This site/forum is awesome so i think we've got you guys to thank for putting it together. Its really great to have a place where everything you ever need to know about the Bass is together, with lots of friendly and knowledgeble people, happy to pass on tips and advice. Good luck and keep up the good work! Rich
22. Hey Guys Thanks alot for the help here. I think basically for the straight out simple ease of purchase and usage, il get the GEB7, even though i was inclined towards the MXR.
23.
Okay, I have a Bass EQ from Boss which I've used once. Unwanted gift really. I just don't need it. Looking to give it a good home. 7 band graphic EQ, plus a level control - you can use this as an EQ change, or for a swift volume boost/cut. One small scratch to the paintwork, but as you all know, those little Boss pedals are built like tanks. It has no impact on the workings of the pedal. It comes with the original box, and even the original battery, that's how little I've used it. £35.
I will buy it for 35 including postage, assuming you are willing to send it to me. I guess you would like payment via paypal? Rich
24. Thanks everyone for your suggestions, theyre really helpful. Commerford's live sound on the LA DVD seems more synthy, but on the studio reording it just seems like his usual phat overdrive. My Bad!
