A Plea, a Rant, a Call to Arms, whatever ..
Truckstop replied to xilddx's topic in General Discussion
Hear Hear! You forgot Castrovalva though! They're right good them lads. Truckstop -
Oh god I'd love to visit Philadelphia! Such an important place in early American history; see where the Constitution was signed, see the Liberty Bell, the Court House etc etc. Loads of museums! And, you simply must seek out the Philadelphia Cheese Steak Emporium and tell me what it's like! Very jealous. Alex

Thomann Premium Leather Gigbag - Review
Truckstop replied to Truckstop's topic in Hardware & Accessories
There's no comparison really. If I'd the money, I would have gone for the Contego. If offers better protection for your instrument, more support when you wear it on your back (better straps and the like) and has more storage space. But I doubt you'd find anything better for the pricepoint here; certainly not something that looks quite so sexy! Alex -
Yammy. I'm gassing big time for a 1025x that a mate of mine's got. They really are stupendous basses and certainly an investment for the future. They won't make them forever! Truckstop

Yeah, look for a Behringer BDI-21. Less than £30 brand new and everyone I know swears by them. It's essentially a Sansamp clone but with cheaper componants. Truckstop

RBH every time. Just personal preference I suppose; loads of mids, presence and plenty of bass too. IIRC, no tweeters (which I prefer). Truckstop

What a steaming pile of scrap. D'oh.

Where are you based? I'll definitely have this if you're within like a 2 hours drive. I'm in St. Albans, Herts. Cheers! Alex -
Yaah. great The Tab i'm looking at every verse and chorus is different and there are pre choruses as well, and then there is a different part over the solo. hense I'd rather just read it. Youv'e been playing it wrong all these years Truckstop
Well of course if you're trying to get it note for note then I suppose so! Truckstop

+1 There's like 4 riffs/7 notes in the entire song. Play it through a couple of times and you'll have it! Truckstop

There's no more venues. Nearest place to me that has original bands on a regular basis is an under-18's youth club. All the music pubs around here have been taken over by cover bands except for a couple of lonely open-mic nights. Other than that, I have to go into London; £20 on trains, £4 pints, couple of hours travelling etc etc. It stops becoming a good night out for me especially if I'm going to a small club to see bands that I know nothing about. I think the main problem is, is that with the Internet, people can see if the band are good or not before bothering to go and see them. And the fact is, is that a lot of small bands that play small clubs aren't worth going to see! Venues need to find a way to get regulars to the venue. Not just people that follow each individual band, but people that will come to that venue week in week out. That's where the trick lies. Truckstop

Not another "What rig shall I get" thread.

2x Barefaced Compact. Ultra light to carry and will surely handle all the power you can throw at them! Truckstop -
Mustang and Musicmaster here. Currently selling the Musicmaster and will probably get another Mustang! Loving the looks of the new closet classics. So I accepted a Mustang as part of a trade deal a while ago and just instantly loved it. I've never been a particularly flamboyant player so losing a couple of frets is no worry to me. The smaller body and overall size makes it very comfortable indeed and I think they look great! I dont think I'm too bothered about the short-scaleness of it; I think I just like the bass very much. I can easily change to long scale and if required I'll use a long scale for a gig or something. I think it would be wrong to say that I will only play short scale from now on! Truckstop
Oh look out, here come the bass chat police!!
Hang on, everyone else here abides by the rules. If you don't agree with the rules or you think that this forum is too heavily moderated then take your extremely unhelpful and childish attitude somewhere else. Thanks Alex
