1. Provisionally gone!
2. Here's my recently acquired MAJ/Koch rig. Scored it off ebay for £220 and a 20 minute drive. The ad only showed the 2x12 cab and the head, only mentioning a 1x15 in passing; turned out to be matching! Well chuffed with it. Cabs sound huge and the head has a lovely clean sound to it. Handles effects very well and comes flightcased too. Bonus! 3. Hello, As part of my music-room clearance, I'm shifting this Carvin 1x15 cab. Its big, bulky and heavy, but paired with a suitable speaker sounds utterly bone shaking. I used it for a while with an Eminence Delta 500w speaker and it sounded huge. Since used the speaker for something else, so at the moment its loaded with an Ashdown driver. 350w, 8ohm. This cab is extremely well made and will handle a lot of abuse. Cons: obviously, it'll need renovating at some point. Some of you may remember my renovation thread where I tripped this cab of its old carpet and recovered it? Yeah, I didnt really know what I was doing and now it needs sorting out again! If i had the space for it, I'd strip it and paint it black, but I dont, so I won't. This cab would be ideal for just leaving in the practice room or if someone runs a jam night. It comes with heavy duty castors and the original black metal grille for the front of it. Collection only from AL2 1AZ please. Cheers Alex
4. Hello, As part of my music-room clearout I'm shifting this Torque Guitar combo. Quite heavy, well made, very loud little amp. Great for the music room, plenty of grunt and distorts nicely when it's cranked. Reverb sounds quite tinny and the tremolo is best avoided but I did find that it loves effects; really accents them well. I suppose because it's quite a clean sounding amp, doesn't colour your sound too much. 10" speaker, I think its 20w. Bad things: It's old and tatty, knobs are crackly but all work. Input jack is noisy when you plug in. Extremely uncool! Collection from AL2 1AZ only please. Cheers Alex
5. Hello, As part of my music-room clearance, I'm shifting this Burswood Stratocaster. Its in good nick, everything works (all the knobs and toggle etc), neck's straight with plenty of relief. Could with a set-up with some fresh strings and a polish. I lost the back plate a long time ago so the innards of the trem system is exposed but I've never found it to be a bother. A good guitar to learn on (my first guitar!) and it's got a great neck. Quite a shallow profile. Its got a nice weight to it too, feels comfortable. Collection from AL2 1AZ only. I will not part it out and I will not deliver. Cheers Alex
6. Hello all, As part of my music-room clearout, I'm shifting this project I've had sitting about for a while: Non-descript 3TSB body (Really, really light!), a few scuffs but solid. Mighty Mite Maple/Maple neck. No transfers. Gold machine-heads ('reliced') inexpertly attached. As-new condition (apart from machine heads) Precision profile neck. White P-Guard (not screwed down) Fender MIJ Pickups Gold hardware off an Encore IIRC (reliced) No Strings No electrics other than the pickups Collection from AL2 1AZ only please, cant be arsed to pack it and wait around for a courier. I will not part this out, I will not deliver. Cheers! Alex
7. Sorry, i meant like is it double the muff of a normal one? Twice the fuzz? Does it have two settings? Ie, what makes it different from a normal Muff? Cheers Alex
8. How does the double muff work? Truckstop
9. And, it'll still be totally useful and fashionable in 15 years time! I'm actually a little bit tempted! Alex
10. Mark Knopfler! Sting! Bowie! God there's loads! But yes, it's a good question; who will be so highly revered and still making great music in 20 years? Rihanna? Beyonce? Do Katy Perry, Jessie J and Justin Timberlake have longevity? I doubt it. They don't write their own music, so how are they going to keep the music going in the future? Hopefully bands like Elbow and Biffy Clyro will still be knocking about. Truckstop
11. God, too much reverb! Bloke thinks he's Steve Vai! Does sound pretty sweet though; I'm gonna go with a 1959 Fender TV Bluesmaster Mk. IV Hyper Mach III Ultra-Verb XXX 5150 Type V7. Boss tweed obviously. Truckstop
12. Took the words straight out of my mouth, you mother! Yeah, I'd fill the holes and just get spraying. The thing is, is those holes are going to annoy you forever, get it sorted now while the bass is srill in bits. Remember to keep patient and flatten properly after each coat of paint. By the time you've got all the colour down, you'll be spraying like a pro, so applying the lacquer will be a no brainer; get some nitro, it's easier to get a glossy finish! Truckstop
13. I believe he does commission sales; not sure if he actually buys used basses? Truckstop
14. They've got a new website opening tomorrow. They've closed the current one overnight. Truckstop
15. And very sexy they are too! That SG looks particularly interesting, wish I had funds Truckstop
16. Oh stop bumping it! I really want this one Truckstop
17. Just made a £25 donation to www.staffierescue.co.uk at the request of Ped! Should hopefully be enough to buy a few treats for the lovely dogs they look after and I would also like to encourage anybody else to make a small donation. It's very easy, you can do it via Paypal or Debit card and takes but a few seconds. Have a look at the lovely Staffs; Meg took my fancy! Cheers Alex
18. I love my Gallien Kreuger MB210. Very light 2x10 combo. 350w at 8ohms and the full 500w with an 8ohm extension cab. Plenty of volume, responsive EQ, small footprint and seems to be built pretty well. Easily expanded aswell; loads of cabs built to match the combo (1x15, 2x10, 2x12, 1x12). Cheap also. I picked mine up in a trade worth £250 and I got a 2x10 extension cab for another £185. Would happily use it in any scenario! Truckstop
19. £25 I love Staffies, let's get this show on the road! Alex
20. Interesting. I guess I'm just resigned to the fact that these days it's impossible to make your own music heard. Covers are a good way of bypassing the years of struggle and getting a decent audience and adoration relatively instantly. Nothing more soul destroying than performing your own music to barstaff Truckstop
21. Ah I see! Ha ha, well sounds like fun and I wish I was good enough to have a bash, I love like 90% of the bands you've put there! Good luck! Alex
22. Have you never listened to a song and wished you were there playing it? My old band used to do loads of Elbow, My Morning Jacket and M83; no-one knew the songs but we were up there playing awesome music. Truckstop
