1.
Lovely. I think you got the better end of that swap. Get on to the Vintage Ibby FB group and see if anyone's got any spare tuners in their parts box. Jon.
Cheers Jon.
 2. Any love for these? Swapped my Jap fretless Fender P for this Ibanez Musician MC940 DS. (the Japanese one was the export version, basswood etc) Wasn't using the P fretless much and thought I'd get a larger variety of sounds out of this.. Always fancied one in the 80's but could never afford it. It needs a bit of attention, it's fairly well scarred and two of the machineheads have been replaced with larger fender type and as such it looks a bit odd. Anyone know what type would fit? It's not monsterously heavey and one I think I could handle for a set .
 3. Saw him support the Clash and Ten Pole Tudor a few times. Always fun! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Tl7BZYC5qI
 4. Great thread. Many great out there.. almost anything Chic This one still gets me today Always banged out loud at our school disco's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yURRmWtbTbo
 5. I'm trying not to be a fanboi but.. tell you what, these Retrovibe basses really are great value for money if my Renegade is anything to go by.
 6. I have to get away from this thread.. see too much I like!
 7. Nice. I do like these, especially the fretted versions. But at over 4k for the top of the range models, I think all I'll be doing is liking.
 8. Just came across this, loverly sound and nice playing, looks and sounds like a decent bass.
How does it sound/feel compared to the real thing?
It feels pretty close, this bass is very light weight and balances nicely when standing. Feels a little shorter in scale length, not sure why that is. The sound isn't quite there, maybe being a bolt on it loses some sustain and clank. I made a quick sound sample this morning, forgive the cheesy riff Tone wide open, fingers, Neck pu, then both , then bridge. No eq or effects, straight into logic pro.. https://www.dropbox....negade.mp3?dl=0 I try it with the band tonight so that will be the acid test, but so far very happy.
 11. Sounds like a bit of air guitar. Sometimes I have been know to scribble down chord sequences that have suddenly entered my head during boring meetings
Highfox - it's perfectly fine to show pics of Fakers, discuss them, whatever - we just can't offer them for sale, or discuss where they can be bought. Same goes for real Ricks, amusingly. Jon.
Thanks for the clarification I think I was unsure about posting even when I had a real Rick, when the storm was going down.
 14.
Clout - "Substitute" (1978)
Nice, I'd forgotten about both those. Think even I might of been able to play the drums on the Clout song.

 18. I just started using my TH500 again, as I'm now practicing with 2 different bands and leave my rigs at the practice places. Sounds very nice through my GB neo 212. As has been said getting the drive and gain worked out is the key....
 19.
Nah, it's concentration and indigestion.
Yes, been there Had a bit of a scare last friday at our gig, started to get cramps in my plucking fingers, luckily it was the last song and so just used a pick and was able to hold it without any cramps. Showing my age maybe, it was only an hour or so set. I usually practice 2-3 times a week with various bands so you'd think the muscles were used to it. Maybe I was digging in more as it was a wild one
 20. I always think when I see photo's or videos of myself playing live, that I look far too serious.. Guess it's concentration and something going on deep down in the soul.
 21.
Is that like the bowels of satellite TV?
yes exactly. Worked in that industry for 15 years.
 22. Been there! In my experiance (here) it takes time and a bit of luck to find the right/dedicated people. Compromise is the key if you want to get on.
 23.
Always liked this..
This reminds me, I actually played this song live with them on tv Luckily it's lost forever in the anals of satellite tv
 24. How about some King Kurt. Fun live band back in the 80's. Decent mueso's as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wt4Zhdoj65o
 25.
I apologise in advance if I repeat some already mentioned . anyway : The crunch - rah band Brim full of asha Popcorn- hot butter Sugar sugar- the Archie's Devils answer-atomic rooster ( not sure if tomorrow night reached the charts) Hawk wind - silver machine Roadrunner- Jonathan richman Manhattan transfer- d'mour Zager& evan-25 25 The ruts- Babylons burning Space - magic fly ..
I'd argue the Ruts weren't a one hit wonder, they appeared on Top of the Pops with 3 different singles.. Babylons Burning was their highest chart position tho, Good old local lads from Southall and the first Punk Band I ever saw.
