1.
I have the 4 string and it's a nice bass - very underrated
+1. (Currently on loan to my drummer...
2. Way out of my reach, and I have no idea if this is a good price. I'd want better pics, myself. http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/wal-bass-mk-i-1981/1003242134#gallery-item-full-2

4. Tom's an honest man, and that's good enough for me. Cheers
5. hello and welcome My sister's lad has an RBX170; it's nice and plays well, but I find the body uncomfortable to play sitting down (perhaps I just have funny-shaped legs?). I did offer to buy it from him, but he was all "I'm not selling it, it's too nice to play". Whatever else people say about the youth of today, some of them do actually know when they're having fun
6. That bass looks pretty, but I'm not sure about the headstock. Still, I reckon I'd get used to it if it had cost me £88 and sounded and played nicely Welcome aboard, anyway!
7. bluejay said it better than I would have Welcome aboard! (And be prepared to find that in six months you've got rid of all your old basses... and bought at least as many!)
8. oooh... this is probably the worst place you could possibly be, if you can't stretch to another bass right now. GAS is lurking round the corner... Welcome aboard
9. Hi. I doubt you'll learn much from me, but there are lots of proper players here
10.
I suspect that you'll soon get pi**ed off with requests for duelling banjos.
Play it on a bass instead
11. (I thought I posted in this thread already. Curious.) I agree with iconic, you've got bigger balls than me (The Hohner neck off your LPB jazz is now on a Kay or Avon Rose P body, and very nice it is too - cheers
12.
+1, don't know Howard personally, had a plate made by him, all the pages of +feedback says it all really.
Likewise. Bought a scratchplate from him recently, turnround was fine, he kept me informed and I have no complaints. I hope he's OK.
13. Siouxsie and the Banshees, 'Suburban Relapse'. Before that it was John Surman, 'Whistman's Wood'.
14. ooohh... nasty I'm a bit surprised that's even repairable, n00b that I am.
15. Great thread idea, and I'm glad it works well for some of us
16. The RBX200 is in better nick than mine, and cheaper too. Someone should snap that up, sharpish
17. I had fun on my own Usual practice cancelled, so I stayed home and messed about with a recent acquisition (Aria GB, which I will be selling because I don't get on with the neck - otherwise it's pretty good) and an old mate (Yamaha RBX200 fretless, which I love to bits even though I can't play fretless for toffee). I haven't enjoyed a solo practice/twiddle that much for ages.
18. Is it fretted? It's hard to tell from the pics.
19. I've a Peavey Cirrus BXP which is 35". I don't play it much, but I notice no difference from 34" basses.
20.
Why on earth not?
I'm kind of clumsy... I mean, there are only 200 of the things, tops.
21. I bought Luke's Bass Pod. Good comms, quick delivery (despite problems with post offices), well packed, all happy. Nice guy as well. Thank you Recommended!
