    That’s for switching channels, eg switching between two different basses or amps, or playing both at once. Remember that if using two fx pedals, the signal needs to be split, sent to both and then combined back into a mono signal. This pedal doesn’t appear able to do that.

    I do need to add that running the fuzz in parallel to the octave sound way better so an LS-2 or Cog-T65 (with its own loop) are worth looking at. LS-2 is so versatile that you’ll find loads of uses for it.

    Yep, gated fuzz is really great for copping synth sounds and gives the right kind of attack and quick release. I recommended the Manta as it has a gated fuzz built in, however I’d highly recommend the Zvex Mastotron fuzz as it does a much better job.

    I’d honestly suggest saving a bit more and getting a Source Audio Manta and an octaver. Obviously that’ll set you back more (£90 used for the Manta, plus similar price for a good octaver (of which there are many)). I must confess I’ve never played the Digitech. Might be worth looking at the Boss SYB-5 too; I’m pretty sure I’ve seen those go for £35.

    Does the blender do series as well as parallel? Edit: I just checked out the manufacturer website and indeed it does. (The v4 looks interesting too.) If someone buys my Bass Microsynth I will be interested in this (I’m trying to keep pedal spending at net zero).

    What about if you use that KMA signal splitter that separates high and low frequencies into separate channels?

    I’d suggest getting a Source Audio Aftershock and trying out all the various models in there. You may end up loving the pedal and keeping it. Or you may come away with a much clearer idea of what kind of distortion pedal you’re after.

    Cool. The only down side is that there’s no (external) control for the volume of the octave signal. I did send a message to Red Witch asking if they’d release a stand-alone octaver with this circuit but never got a reply.

    Midi Pad 2 is great for changing presets on the Source Audio Hub and is capable of much more too (note triggering, CC, Program change). Any “pad” can have multiple parameters assigned to it.     That is the combo I would love, 2-EQ, honeyburst, rosewood, white, birdseye neck. I wanted to custom order a SLO special like this and was gutted to find they discontinued this awesome colour. I wish I could get on with Stingray necks.

    Seriously, it’s well worth it even at full price and there are other ways than keyboard to play it.
