  1. One popped up on eBay in the uk a couple of days ago.
  2. Nope, it’s still possible to order one. If you’re thinking about it you might want to do it before July when they roll out the changes they’ve made (aluminium hardware replacing the chrome and different tuners).
  3. You can use a dedicated MIDI program change piece of hardware or app to better change between patches. Such as MIDImouse, Soleman or MIDI pad 2.
  4. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  5. Quite a bit more as the SonicSmith is a “proper” analogue synth, has a bunch of additional features and can be used with any instrument/voice. Whether it’s £600 more versatile is questionable if you only want to use it with bass.
  6. It looks like it should. It basically appears to just be a resonant LP/BP filter with an envelope follower and LFO to control the sweep. However, it doesn’t have a stomp switch but rather a normal on/off rocker switch so looks more suited to desktop use.
  7. Set up right, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t. I got some pretty fat sounds from it. The other main feature of the SonicSmith stuff is that you can use them to drive any synth that has CV and gate inputs (Minitaur, Model D, Sub37, etc).
  8. It is the same as the Squaver though without PWM and sub octave and a lesser-featured filter. If you like the basic sound that Zach got it his video then you’ll probably like it. There are some not-so-great “demo” videos of it floating around.
  9. Zach has finally got hold of a Squaver P1+. I tried it at Superbooth yesterday and it is a definite improvement on the original.
  10. Mustn’t look. I’m trying to resist buying this back. I didn’t really want to sell it but really need the cash to move house. Somebody buy it before I crack. It really is a wonderful bass and I’d have it back in a heartbeat. Ben is also great to deal with so don’t hesitate.
  11. Absolutely nothing. Probably just the reflection - photo was taken directly under a circular ceiling lamp.
  12. I concur, I had a go on this for the gated fuzz which is great (but wasn’t quite what I was after). The octaver really impressed me and if I didn’t already have 3 other octavers I would have kept it. This is the only octaver I’ve found that tracks as well as the MXR BOD and its baked-in sound is wonderful. For pure sound and feel of the octaver it also beat my Octo Nøjs; I just wanted the extra control over the tones.
  13. I recently got a first version Xerograph Deluxe and it is cool.
  14. That is true. What isn’t mentioned is that it runs parallel to the octaver so it’s an octave higher than if one were to run dirt into an octaver.
  15. Therein lies your problem. I had similar problems using my Sterling and the Okto Nojs. Best solution is to use a P bass or Jazz bass on the neck pickup or similar. I don't have any issues using those.
  16. Maybe I should wait until I get to try a Mastotron through it. Bizarrely I didn’t manage to try the Zeus through this.
  17. If you’re on the fence about this then act fast; I can post Tuesday or Wednesday but then will be unable to do so for a week or two after that.
  18. I’ve tried out a bunch of iOS apps for this functionality and the best one I’ve found (and bought for £9.99) is AudioStretch: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/audiostretch/id571863178?mt=8 I particularly wanted to find one that was close to the PC software “Transcribe!” which has a playable piano keyboard and mapped spectral analysis. I can’t stress too much how useful this feature is. The scrolling is smooth. Speed goes right down to 0.01 times. Another useful thing is the ability to play it by swiping the waveform so it’ll go as slow as your finger movement and only over the portion you want to hear. I wish I’d found this earlier in the week as I’ve been using a different app to transcribe a fiendishly tricky Chris Potter tenor solo and this would’ve saved me a few hours. This is better than the iOS version of Amazing Slow Downer (though it doesn’t have the ability to place a pause between loops and set it to speed up incrementally).
  19. I see. It’s an octave up, not a sub octave.
