  1. Hi guys, @Al Krow has decided to make a dedicated thread for us to upload recordings showcasing our synthy sounds. It is located here:
  2. Another itch scratched. I wanted to compare this to the Mastotron and, for my needs, I prefer the Mastotron. This is in fantastic condition and is a great pedal. It actually goes way beyond the functionality of the Mastotron. It can cop loads of classic fuzz pedal sounds. It can do the tight gated fuzz thing (which is what I want) but it can also do a whole bunch of intermodulation and oscillation effects. Truth be told, as cool as those sounds are, I’m unlikely to use them as I’m mainly using fuzz into envelope filters so any higher partial craziness just gets filtered out so is a bit wasted on me. It does sound pretty damn nasty when run in parallel with an octaver though. Price is firm and includes recorded 1st class delivery. I can post same day. Act fast though - I’m playing around with this and it’s growing on me.
  3. I guess I could have sent my query via PM but I figured it was information prospective buyers needed to have. It wasn’t my intention to cause the seller to adjust his price. For what it’s worth, I think the body modifications make the bass more desirable (though there will be some who disagree) as I find slab bodies uncomfortable. I’m sure that whoever buys this will be very happy with it.

  5. Yup. I was just listening back to recordings I made with the one I owned and it sounds lovely.
  6. For clarification, I think the reshaping is an improvement as it makes it much more comfortable to play. And if it is the one I linked to, Jon’s work is impeccable.
  7. Really? Musicman classics have a slab body which has no belly cutaway and no forearm contour. Yours appears to have both of those features.
  8. Who did the body reshaping work? (I remember seeing a black Stingray Classic in for reshaping on Jon Shuker’s site last year - is this it?)
  9. The Model D is really good. I bought one recently. Sadly I had to send it back as there’s a problem with the modulation section (and it seems to be problematic on quite a few of them) in that routing any modulation to the oscillators sends the base pitch sharp by a semitone. I’m waiting for another and hope it doesn’t suffer the same. Behringer are also cloning an OB-X and have done a Pro One too.
  10. Can confirm this. I played the full size version and mini version side by side. The full size keys felt really cheap. I’d get the mini or the module version. However, might be worth hanging on as Behringer showed a prototype Odyssey clone at Superbooth which has full size keys (same keybed as the Deepmind), built-in effects and a sequencer. It should be out this year.
  11. @lee650, bargain right here.
  12. In my view, the best of the three is the Rendez Vous. Basically they are like this: Déja Vu has 2 LFOs (and NO envelope control). LFO is continuously variable between ramp, saw and triangle or skinny pulse, square and wide pulse. It has a modulation gate so that the LFO doesn’t bleed when in the audio range; Rendez Vous has 1 LFO and 1 envelope follower. LFO is same above pedal. It has the same modulation gate; Avant Garde has 2 envelope followers. It has NO modulation gate. Instead it has an LFO which can be used at the same time as both envelopes and can be routed to both sides of the pedal simultaneously. However it has a fixed shape and does not go to the extreme fast and slow speeds capable on the other two pedals so is of limited use (especially with the phaser). I rented the Rendez Vous for a week and loved it. The last time there was a sale on I bought the Avant Garde as I thought I’d prefer two envelopes but I didn’t think it was as versatile and sent it back. I really missed having the slow LFO to direct at the phaser (or filter) and having the two envelopes wasn’t really that useful given that even with the one envelope version, you can direct it to both sides of the pedal anyway. Same goes for the Déja Vous - having two LFOs is pointless because in the Rendez Vous you can direct the one LFO to both sides of the pedal. If you’re at all unsure, get the Rendez Vous
  13. I sold Jonathan my Xerograph Deluxe. Communication was clear and friendly and payment was made promptly. I’d have no hesitations in trading with Jonathan again. Many thanks!
  14. Absolutely beautiful. I wanted one of these in this spec for ages and ages and then found that the 74 neck profile is chunkier than the 75 (which I love) and couldn’t get comfortable on it.
  15. Everything Thomas made is brilliant. The Rhodes, Clavinet, Wurlitzer and basses are astounding. He wants to focus on making music and virtual instruments so is looking for a partner/company to take care of the sales and legal side.
  16. It gets a few appearances in this video:
  17. Managed to score one hopefully I’ll get it by the weekend.
  18. I just got an email with the sad news that Scarbee will be closing it’s web shop on 24th May (though will continue to provide support to customers thereafter). These virtual instruments are some of the very best around. This could be the last chance to buy some of these great instruments. He’s offering 50% off so move quickly. https://www.scarbee.com/

  20. For anyone who’s feeling flush, Glou Glou is having a sale - €120 discount on his pedals: https://glou-glou.org/ As @tonyxtiger will attest, the Rendez-Vous is a fantastic pedal.
  21. Dannybuoy is right. On the Manta the wave forms are all used at low frequencies as modulation sources. Some of the bass synth models in your zoom have sawtooth and square wave oscillators. And I’m sure they have equivalent LFOs too. CVs can be used as modulators or as sound sources in synthesis, depending on where they’re directed. If a waveform is directed at pitch or filter input then it’s a modulator; if it is routed straight into the amplifier then it becomes a sound source. It can even do both those things simultaneously.
