  1. https://youtu.be/Ocqi_wrG3kk listen to 20s of this from 8m20s (for some reason I can’t get the time code to embed).
  2. Thanks. It’s between 6, 7, 9 and 11 now. Only one shall be victorious.
  3. Let’s hope it doesn’t stay there as a doorstop.
  4. I’m going to submit an application to be a patch programmer and beta tester for the upcoming new firmware version. Here are my 12 candidates. I can only submit one. Any favourites? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YlDIU-uCJNLyRa45UCGppjmL4_nZl634/view?usp=drivesdk to aid navigation, here are the time stamps: 00.00 baby cheeses 00.43 back to the drawing board 01.28 bass-related injuries 02.38 double trouble 03.20 double trouble (8vb) 04.02 empty nest 04.46 forced hibernation 4 05.31 forced hibernation 5 06.27 mouse only 2 driven 1 07.10 mouse only 2 driven 2 07.56 mouse only 2 parallel filters 08.43 mouse only 3 09.32 mouse only vocal bass
  5. Rather than cross posting a third time, please check out the Future Impact resource thread for some samples.
  6. Here are 12 patches I’ve made for the Future Impact. The favourite will be sent to Andras as a demo as I’m applying to be a programmer on the V3 firmware. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YlDIU-uCJNLyRa45UCGppjmL4_nZl634/view?usp=drivesdk @Al Krow I’ve been given a Focusrite Saffire 6. Sadly it’s only usb 1.1 so not fast enough to run my live piano on. I’ll need to buy something better. To aid navigation here are the time stamps: 00.00 baby cheeses 00.43 back to the drawing board 01.28 bass-related injuries 02.38 double trouble 03.20 double trouble (8vb) 04.02 empty nest 04.46 forced hibernation 4 05.31 forced hibernation 5 06.27 mouse only 2 driven 1 07.10 mouse only 2 driven 2 07.56 mouse only 2 parallel filters 08.43 mouse only 3 09.32 mouse only vocal bass
  7. What are you keeping, Ash? You’re like a one-man Moog shop. 🙂
  8. On another note, I may soon be able to contribute some recordings as I’m aiming to set up my audio interface today.
  9. Yes, I do. Q-Tron and Enigma have that vibe too; not surprising as Mike Beigel also designed those.
  10. Enigma is the only analogue filter I have left after my big filter binge and subsequent purge.
  11. That’s exactly what I found. I had one and thought it was great. However I could get all the sounds and more with the Enigma.
  12. Yep, listening to the whole album right now.
  13. Yes. I really should. I’ve no excuse now as I’ve saved up a fair bit from recent sales. A cab is still a bit superfluous for me at present: home practice is headphones-only by necessity (very thin walls) and when I play with others, there’s an amp already there. My pedals are on a board of sorts for home, but yes, something I can take out would be good. Still don’t know what to go for as I’m not sure what I’ll keep/sell/acquire.
  14. I only just discovered the Commodores last year and love the first four albums they did (before Lionel started getting more writing duties).
  15. Cool track. That album is going in my list of stuff to listen to. Thanks.
  16. There are a few factual inaccuracies in that. My findings were not based on 20 minutes’ time in a shop. (What shop even stocks these?) I rented one for two weeks from @tonyxtiger when his rental business was still going, though I also rented the Rendez Vous at the same time which got more playing time devoted to it. I certainly didn’t slag it off. I found that there were tracking and feel issues on patches which prevented me from enjoying it (especially when having it side by side with the RV). Though some stock patches did sound great, overall it didn’t speak to me at that time. I never used the editor when I rented it and this is where all the good stuff is. Since I rented the FI, I got into synthesis properly and bought a synth and spent over a year learning to program. This now means I can understand the potential and power of the FI. My main reason for exhorting you to get the editor up is my firm belief that that is where all the magic is. If you don’t use it, you’re really missing out on what this can do and the inspirational sounds it can produce. Also, when I rented the FI, my P Bass was at the luthier. I’ve since found that it works best with that bass. I’ve found that certain programming choices have an effect on tracking response and have learned a bit more about how to work around that. I hope your last comment was intended tongue-in-cheek otherwise I feel you may need to buy some window polish for your glass house. 🙂
  17. You’ve still not even plugged the FI into your PC yet? Get on it, man! Even if you don’t create any patches, at least browse some of those that others have created. The beauty is twofold: browsing patches is done from files on your PC, the one you’re auditioning gets loaded into a buffer on the FI (and doesn’t overwrite anything on your pedal). You can instantly see all the settings of the patch you’re currently hearing.
  18. @BassedinBucks this might be a better bet.
  19. The last bump was over three years ago! I’d be surprised if this isn’t long gone.
  20. Did you get that deluxe that went on eBay last week? I was watching that and it was a bargain.
  21. Also, firmware version 3 is complete (though the editor isn’t yet ready).
  22. They are available for less than that.
