  1. Can’t believe how many of these have been up for sale this week. Such a great pedal and about to be become loads cooler with the impending update. Here are some patches I’ve made for the coming v3 update: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PNcyA3TIJy126bPmVOIYaQaHy0lzuQym/view?usp=drivesdk
  2. I bought this a few weeks ago from @mike 110 as I needed a P while my PJ bass was on an epic stay with the luthier. My bass is finally back home and, as much as I’d like to keep this, I really am much more at home on the narrower neck of my PJ. It sounds and looks the business and is pretty light too. Not interested in trades other than a P with a J-width neck or a 75 jazz AVRI or FSR (or Sadowsky UV70) with mother of pearl blocks (rosewood preferred), natural or Olympic white only. The sharp-eyed among you will see that I’m listing this at £20 more than I paid but that is because I’ve fitted a new set of Labella 760FS to it. (I’ll include the couple-of-months-old set of Labella 760FM strings that were on the bass.) EDIT - I’ve put the heavier strings back on but will include both sets. Handover in person only. Collection from Sheffield preferred, though there is potential for me to deliver (via public transport) to Darlington, Newcastle, London and Bath/Bristol as I plan on visiting friends and family soon. I’m reusing Mike’s photos for now but can post others if required. Original ad is here: I really love the sound of this bass and am considering getting a slimmer neck made for it so I’d suggest moving fast on this before I change my mind about letting it go.
  3. Nah. It’s just that when using keys it’s exactly like a synth keyboard as it’s not responding to incoming audio signals as it is when using it with a bass guitar.
  4. I doesn’t track the keys; rather it takes midi note on and off messages so that’s always going to be quicker than on bass. Having said that, plenty of these patches work on bass (though some need the release times lengthening to avoid envelope clicks).
  5. http://pandamidi.com/support You’ll need either a USB-to-MIDI interface (Roland UM One or similar) or USB audio interface (Focusrite Scarlett or similar). There’s a list of tested products on the panda site. Update is either via web browser or via the editor software.
  6. Are you aware of the major update coming to the FI? Sorry if I keep banging on about it. It’s just had a significant interim firmware update in the last week too.
  7. Here are a few other patches I made. Again played via keyboard but all except the clavinet patch work on bass. Again I’ve used mod wheel and aftertouch to add modusltion/morphing but these messages can easily be sent while triggering with a bass instead. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PNcyA3TIJy126bPmVOIYaQaHy0lzuQym/view?usp=drivesdk
  8. This patch was done using a keyboard. Raising the mod wheel introduces the modulations I listed. This patch could also be played using a bass instead and using something like a Source Audio Hub with an expression pedal to send the mod wheel messages. Modulations don’t have to be routed through a mod wheel. There are plenty of possibilities with just FI and a bass. I like programming stuff to a midi controller though as it means the sound can be varied expressively while playing.
  9. C4 is primarily monophonic but does have some polyphonic capabilities. There’s an option to specify the highest and lowest note tracked so that may give some improvement as it’ll be only looking in that range. Not sure if poly will improve tracking. Sometimes there’s a bit more latency as it’s having to deal with more information when tracking multiple notes. You might find that string bumps still produce unwanted glitching in addition to the mono note you’re playing. There might be others who can compare sooner as it sounds like SA will be releasing some hand-made casings as there’s been a hold-up with the factory casings. I’m waiting for the proper production one as it looks nicer. I have plenty to keep me busy until then. If I can sort some desk space such that I can get wires into my audio interface then I’ll get some more clips up of the v3 FI patches I’ve made so far to whet your appetites. edit - I’ve posted another rough (iPhone in front of speaker) recording of some patches.
  10. Not really an FI killer; it’ll do some things that FI won’t do: FM synthesis (thanks to Roger for taking my suggestion on board), arpeggiator and sequencer, it’ll still have multiple filters/phasers. The FI v3 update adds a 4-slot modulation matrix with which you can route a choice of many sources to almost any parameter, full ADSR envelopes and the C4 can’t do that. I own an FI and will be getting a C4 as soon as it’s released.
  11. Here’s a little v3 taster. This one uses flexi slots to add a negative filter envelope, send the noise envelope to LFO speed and send velocity to LFO depth. Apologies for the rough recording. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q2iaSDeDKZTYO7HNc-kaXuav1f7ncrf0/view?usp=drivesdk
  12. These are great and super quiet due to being digital (though you’d never guess).
  13. USB to midi interface (such as Roland UM one) or USB audio interface (such as Focusrite Scarlett).
  14. Full ADSR envelopes, incredibly powerful four slot modulation matrix, ability to use all three FX simultaneously. It’s a HUGE step up from its current state as it adds a massive scope for expressivity.
  15. I’m not the one writing code so couldn’t possibly say for certain but it’s progressing nicely.
  16. What strings are on on that first clip (brand, type and gauge)? They sound great!
  17. V2.21 is up on the Panda website.
  18. Presumably the £465 was for when the advert included multiple pedals totalling £465. There is no way to amend this bit currently.
  19. Simple fix - start using it. You know you’re going to regret letting this go.
