  1. The attack/release times are different. The range of the HPF is different. The new one seems to have more bottom and is more transparent than the older one. The older one seems a bit clearer on top and colours the sound more than the newer one. Depending on what they are paired with, one can sound better than the other.
  2. These are great.
  3. I’m having a hard time choosing between this and the previous incarnation. They both sound good.
  4. Yes, this was my understanding. He clearly states in his reverb shop that he’s based in turkey for half the year, which strongly implies he ships from there when he is. And I do remember reading of UK folks who’d had import duty. Looks like the rules have changed since I last looked into this and commercial goods up to £135 don’t get charged (as HMRC assumes seller has charged VAT already) but gifts over £39 get charged. (That’s a little bizarre as presumably someone could send you a gift of a commercial item that is over £39 but under £135 in value and you would be charged for that, whereas if you bought the item yourself, you wouldn’t be charged. 🤷🏻)
  5. Yes, the Origin stuff holds up really well against the “real thing”; I love the two I have. I agree. For £600 the Celebrity pedal looks aesthetically unappealing. Could also do with a more robust tube cage. I’d still like to try one if I can. I’m not on IG so have only managed to hear one short demo. The Grand Slampegg has been the best I’ve tried so far.
  6. A few competitors now in the firm of Grand Slampegg and the Celebrity pedals one but still…
  7. Manual is up: https://manuals.morningstar.io/ml5r/ml5r-user-manual
  8. Oh, and for anyone interested in Shift Line stuff, it took 15 days from purchase to delivery.
  9. Just dipped my toes a bit deeper into the world of cab sim and amp sim IRs:
  10. Here’s a useful bit of info I got in a reply from Greg when I messaged him last night with my name suggestions. “Hey Peter, thanks for the message. Feel free to message on Instagram.com/celebritypedals in future as the Tube Preamp will only be available via DM through PayPal. You can choose any name and image you want for it! Thanks again. Greg”
  11. Off the top of my head: B15 Town (teen town (Jaco, who was at least a bass player) / Motown)
  12. Damn right I’m interested. Thanks for tagging me. Pretty steep price though, and as he’s based in Turkey for half the year, possibly subject to another £150 in taxes and fees. I get the pun but the the Nirvana reference is so far removed from the B15 sound. I’m sure there could be puns that gave a closer association to that era.
  13. I miss my big box qtron.
  14. The Haz takes up a whole board by itself.
  15. I borrowed a Haz recently and really liked it. Dithered too long in getting one that came up on Reverb but now that the Behringer clone is official, I’ll likely go for that.
  16. Better might be to use a Boss LS-2 before it so that you can trim the volumes of both chains going into the preamp and use the footswitch to select between them.
