Just sold James my Source Audio Spectrum in a smooth and flawless transaction. This involved my walking to meet him where he was playing a show in my city. Our ad hoc arrangements came to fruition and we were able to meet right after his show ended at the appointed place and time. Always nice to meet a fellow Basschatter and talk gear (just hope I didn’t deprive him of time to grab food before the evening show). James is a really nice chap and it was a pleasure to meet him. IRs are not just cab sims, I believe. The Quad Cortex pedal “captures” are similarly created by recording other pedals’ responses to audio impulses at various frequencies and amplitudes. So with those, you can say plug in a tube screamer and the QC will send it impulses and capture the responses. You’d then have a digital version of the TS to use in the QC and would no longer require the original pedal.

V4.12 should be available to download imminently. It fixes a bug with MIDI thru where PC messages on other channels other than the FI4’s own weren’t being forwarded. It also adds a feature which is mainly for the VIP version - it suppresses the EDIT dial’s function when the on/off footswitch is pressed, thus preventing accidental bank changes when engaging/disengaging the pedal. It’s been brought to my attention that there’s a bug in the “convert folder of prg/pr3 programs to pr4” function. Until it is fixed, I’d suggest either loading older patches as normal via the manager as they get converted automatically when they get written to the pedal. If you need to do any bulk conversions, load 99 older patches into the manager and then use the “save” function within the manager to save the files to your computer and they’ll be converted at the point of saving.
