1. What is the opinion of the other band members (unless I've missed it)? If you feel the drummer is no good, then eventually you'll get fed up with him and it'll stop being fun, which was the point in the first place... If he doesn't use the bass drum that worries me. Good luck Wil
2. How about theband4all (theband4u already exists)?

5.
Apparently a bit of a c*** of a person though according to a source of mine...
If I was a "Sir" and had a purported fortune of £800m+ I wouldn't give a **** what people thought of me.

8. I think Macca 'the man' is bigger (better known) than Macca 'the bassist in the Beatles'. He's done very well for himself arranging the same notes we all use in a commercially advantageous and very popular way to make lots of money. I have respect for what he's achieved, not only as a bassist, but as a musician. I'm not sure I like the guy (I've never met him, thus reserve judgement). His contribution to music is undeniable (and to this thread) as is his influence on many musicians (not just bassists). Wil
9. ...been thinking to fit height adjusters to my upright... http://www.mjbl.co.uk/index.php?option=com...dj&Itemid=9 ...price is about right... You could save money if you were to do it yourself (that's the route I'm thinking off). Good luck Wil

11. If the XLR is similar to a Wal, then you'll probably need to put a 1/4" jack in the jack socket to activate the XLR signal out (unless the XLR will accept phantom power). Wil
12. Wrap the SM58 in a small towel / beer mat and wedge this between the tailpiece and the body (mic head looking upwards). Use the condenser in the room simultaneously with the SM58 and do a final mix between the two. Good luck Wil

Digitech Jamman has instrument input and mic input with level control, although you can't use condenser mikes as it doesn't have phantom power. Sampling is only limited to the size of memory card (compactflash). I'm not sure they're made anymore, so you'll probably need to find one secondhand. Wil
19.
Thankfully, I've no such gripes with Status. Every single bass passes through Rob Green's hands before it exits the building. If only all companies could be as good.
+1
20. Phil Jones Bass Buddy. With the aux in allows you to play along to tracks as well. The headphones means you don't have to annoy the neighbours / wife. It also runs on batteries. Perfect for me ... Wil
21. I like my Stentor Arcadia. Whatever you go for, a professional set up will improves things enormously.
22. Wow, thanks for the useful feedback. Some food for thought here... Wil
23. I'm looking at getting a Sans Amp Bass Driver or Para Driver, to get a crunchier tone. Does anyone have experience with either and which one would you recommend? I've listened to some clips on Youtube and either sounds good. The Bass Driver is a bit cheaper... Cheers, Wil
24. Nice... Love the Contra. I think AI are great! Wil
