1. Warwick Profet 3.2 though a Warwick 2x10 which had a distinct lack of grunt.
2. Not seen that colour before - stunning!
3. You can tell that's a Rick with yer eyes shut! Good score George, that's a beaut!
4. When I was playing Orchestral music I always worried after a good dress rehearsal that we'd have a crap concert. As it happens mostly the final rehearsal wasn't good and therefore the concert was cracking. We became known as the Dennis Norden Orchestra coz it was generally 'alright on the night'. Same now with the Bass.
5. Well that was 7 mins well spent. Really like that, reminded me of Yes meets Steely Dan! Very musical and a well shot vid too!
6. Rhythm Stick - I've stared at the dots for a couple of months now and YYZ Rush
7. Pm'd with full spec, Cheers
8.
Good luck with the band, with regard to under the bridge, all saints did a cover of that, may be worth a listen just to get an idea of how it can work with female vocals. all the best , sounds like you all get on well, which is as important as talent imo if the band is to work long term, all the best mate.
Thanks for that fella, I'll have a listen to it. I had no idea they had covered it, you learn something new every day! Thanks also for the encouragement, we all do get on really well. LC
9.
You could tell us Cardiff types about the gig in advance so we can come and support you!
I will do. Would be great to have some friends from here supporting. Thanks!!!!
10.
PM'ed for the pics then. best, bert
Since there appears to be a bit of interest here, I'll put some gig pics up in due course and you can see her in action as it were (with her permission naturally!) Then you'll all be jealous!!!! A rather satisfied LC
11. Bargain! Used to have one, good bit of kit
12. Thanks for all the positive comments guys - really appreciated! I'll let you know how the first gig goes, LC
13.
If you read the posts leading up to that moment, would you consider that an inaccurate accusation? Or am I missing something here??
PM'd
14. Apart from that one entirely inappropriate comment, I appreciate your views guys. The only song that she is struggling with at the mo is Under the Bridge - RHCP, and we might have to adjust the key on that one but the rest she's absolutely fine with. We've been playing the wrong landing chord at the end of the verse on Have a nice Day and she spotted that right away last Sat, so she knows her stuff. A good find I reckon.
15.
Appearance is irrelevant, that was uncouth and uncalled for.
....and calling me a pimp is suppose?
16.
pics of this rock chick
Erm...that'll be a £1 please!
17.
You should try the old Status basses with the totally rigid (no truss rod) graphite necks if you want to highlight any problems with your technique. I played one for nearly 20 years and it improved up my playing no end. The newer ones with a truss rod are a lot more forgiving. Fenders and other basses with one piece necks generally have a bit of flex in them and it seems to take a lot of the clatter and fret noise away. Multi laminate through necks always seem a bit toppier, my theory is that they're stiffer.
I know what you mean. My old Vigier had a very rigid neck and was very unforgiving in the dodgy fretting department! It did teach me to be a bit more precise though so no bad thing!
18. After a long search, we finally have a new singer in the shape of Katie - 20 years old and a proper 'rock chick, loads of personality and really likeable'! Auditioned her on Saturday and she came with the songs learned and can really belt them out! Great attitude, very musical and she 'fits in' (no prima donna attitude). So...looking forward to gigging with her out the front. She's been singing in bands since she was 14 so although still young, has a fair amount of experience and has some important venue contacts. Any other bands here with a female singer, how is it working for you? A lot of the songs we do will be arse about face gender wise but we don't see that as an issue. We've been very 'picky' about our singer and reckon we've got a cracker, but this has been after auditioning a lot of 'also rans', no shows and good old fashioned idiots. Happy Days, LC
19. PM's answered, still for sale
20. At a potential £2500 - £3000 price point these will be in very esteemed company indeed and had better be very very good! I look forward to the inevitable review in BGM where they will no doubt be described as,,,,,,, "very very good"! I prefer the look of the Aria SB1000 reissue personally.
21. That's an absolute corker, if my MB rig had gone I'd be on it! Good luck in Dubai LC
22.
Nothings dropped off yet buddy!
Nice one dude! I think the build on mine is pretty decent but not quite as good as my old MIM Roger Waters which was immaculate or my new US P. For the coin, they are pretty hard to beat I reckon.
23. I've got the P version with the double stacked humbuckers and it does sound immense. Congrats on the purchase dude, what do you think of the build quality? LC
24. That's a stunner Col, pity I got nothing to trade! Good luck with it anyway,
25. A more detailed description of your bass and especially some clear pics will help your case enormously mate.
