1. Notice the OP's name is 'koalasrock'. Rocking doesn't happen quietly. Edit: reminds me, I'm pretty in the habit of encouraging people to take up the instruments they've always thought of doing. dude I worked with table drummed a lot, he'd got permission from his mrs to spend a sum on a new graphics card, I sent him a link to a reasonable deal on a drum kit on gumtree, he called the guy and arranged delivery between him getting home, and his mrs getting home. Wish I could have seen her face coming home to a drum kit in the living room being played badly.
2.
Well, I've asked for the headstock piccies, see what happens. eBay stop you from sending your email address to people now, so I had to concoct a word game to get the message through.
Not sure if you can attach pictures both ways, but I've taken to sending a picture of my email address. Edit: looked at bass, looks like it has been sanded back fairly aggressively.
3.
Well, after two gigs and a rehearsal, I'm still amazed by this cab. Cab GAS gone!
Yeah, they'll do that, until it occurs you can have two of them. Seems fine from there though.
4. That guy's signature Gibson guitar is pretty good, even for totally different music than Les Paul played. Being signature isn't the thing, its all about the instrument. Sometimes they have good ideas in them.
5. Turns out the fingerboard and wood inserts on those necks is held on really well. Doesn't shock off even if I heat it up on the radiator them cram it in the freezer. Heating it too hot to touch on the woodburning stove also doesn't crack it off.
6. Not anymore.
7. Does the upside down headstock cover them?
8.
Paraguayan landfill orchestra makes sweet music from rubbish
Fairly skilled woodwork there.
We discovered which materials were most comfortable, which projected the right sound and which withstood the tension of the strings.
Chosen for tone.

10.
do you think Fenders, MM and G&Ls would sound different?
They don't all sound the same. Plus Fender was an electrical engineer not a luthier. Hence the instruments that need a cloured amp to sound right. Electronics can be replicated much more consistently in mass production, doesn't require ongoing skills.
11. Old PCB is much more annoying to work on that Sound City turrets. Replaced every resistor in the preamp of last one, took me about an hour. Pulling a pcb and sorting it is much more annoying task.
12. If you have one spare preamp valve start swapping them about to find which one is at issue. Also, if an amp is being quieter than it should, cranking the volume more is a terrible idea.
13.
I'm building a p replica so this may be of interest Are the pole pieces recessed ? Might be my eyesight
Adjustable with an allen key.
14. Guessing you mean artificial harmonics where you touch the strings on nodes? Anyway, the acoustic brightness of the bass is a fairly big factor in how well they work, so stuff that preserves the harmonics of the string (as in not artificial harmonics) like a good solid bridge and other stuff that avoids high frequency energy loss on stuff other than the string vibrating should all help.
15. What's the difference between that and a Dimarzio model P?
16.
Stephen Carpenter (Deftones) has gone so low he's actually gone full circle. He started on E standard 6 strings, then Db Standard 6 strings, then Drop C 6 strings, then Ab standard 7 strings, then drop Gb 7 strings, then Gb standard 8 strings, now with the new album he's on F standard and drop E 8 strings. He is actually now just playing bass, but it works for them. Although I should declare I'm a die hard drop tuning fan. I usually stick to D standard/ Drop C and never really go below Drop B, but the timbre of a guitar is completely different to a bass in any tuning, and if the bass drops with the guitar (as it should) you still get a well rounded sound.
Didn't their bass player just die after being in a coma for ages? In terms of good reasons to cover bass territory with your guitar, that is pretty much up there.
17. Plenty of metal bands now have three bass players. Generally a couple of them haven't graduated into getting a real bass yet and make do with detuning their guitar, and eqing out the middly sound of guitar.
18. I got a name check on Northern Ballet website: http://northernballet.com/index.php?q=media-releases/ultimate-form-hepworth-wakefield-and-northern-ballet
19.
Surprised by this as we don't hear much about this amp, or any Carvin stuff for that matter outside of the US.
Unusually for a US company, Carvin spend the money on product rather than marketing, which is why they seem shockingly cheap.
20. Orange and Electric are different companies. Electric are US based. Orange are UK. Only real relationship is they both make Matamp knock offs. Neither of them make point to point amps.
21. Brightness of the preamp valve won't tell you much, its jsut the heater in it, and in some valves its more exposed than in others.
22. I never figured what NWA had against them. Was it some dispute over sample clearance or something?
23. Plus you can blame the motion of the sea for the result of not being able the rock and roll as well as you used to.

25. NO point even if it would work. No way can the cab do anything with that power.
