1. I want my living room back bump.
2.
I completely disagree with your view of pricing. The reason being is that Entwistle was a member of The Who, who were massive in their heydays and known globally. Pastorius while a very good jazz bassist and did a lot for the instrument, is practically unknown outside of specific music circles. Part of the value of Entwistles' was due to his fame and popularity, Jaco simply doesn't have that and won't command the same price imo.
He doesn't have to be popular among lots of people, he has to be popular among some very wealthy people.

Cab advice

Are they the original drivers? You can experiment with the port tuning a bit but rolling up some stiff card and putting it in the ports to make them telescopic, and lengthen them that way, see if it makes a difference.
4. By the time you've flipped all those switches and got it in tune properly, might as well switch basses.
5. Surprise is being expressed that these are still going. In anticipation of further similar inquiries, the Precision weighs 4.15kg
6. Owning this will make me feel slightly more like my dad.
7. I heard Felix Pastorius is a very fine player in his own right. Is this the same bass that was smashed into pieces, repairs with front and back veneers and reviewed by a bunch of greats including Wooten?
8. Reckon you should do something to make very sure which is which.
9. If you are planning on both at once, not sure there is much point. If you like the 4x10 alone, won't get much more volume adding a single 1x12, and if you like the sound of either, both probably won't do the same thing as either.
10.
My mom seems driven on NEW only for the guitar, but wont mind a used Amp. I'm trying to persuade her but she's stickin.
Listening to your mum = not rock and roll. Buying new stuff is worst use of money, especially if there is a chance you'll lose interest, that's a loss right away, whereas a cunning bit of buying will turn into an investment and an important skill if you don't see out the bassist path.
11. Can come sit in the House of Bass for a really cheap rate, and just soak up the atmosphere. And learn why maybe you should take up a small acoustic instrument.
12. A sheet of veneer will do you for fret line filler. You can make your own radius block from a favoured fretless (or your defretted and smoothed board) but putting the sandpaper on the board facing out and using it to shape a piece of fairly soft wood into the matching curve. Easier to get a proper one though.
13. Reckon the fretboard wear won't look so bad when its clean, but you'd need to do something to keep it that way. If the hardware has stuff that won't rub off, try cola, except for the sealed bit of the machine heads, cause they might not like it, take the rest off and do them though.
14. Finally released my Max preamp to Alien who has been on the cusp of owning it for so long. All seemed to work fine.
15. Is it lots of amps? Please tell me it's lots of amps.
16.
Solid state amps i.e. amps with a solid state power amp and or a solid state / valve preamp will be fine. Only amps that have a valve power amp i.e. Trace Elliot V8, Ashdown 427 big block, need a speaker load when they are on. So you will be ok D
Generally true, but more true to say amplifiers with an output transformer need to have a load on them, as some solid state amps do have an output transformer (weird ones generally). Also, there are some output transformerless valve amps, which might not need a load, but I am not sure.
17. WD40 isn't ideal, you may find it will get very much worse shortly after making it better. Servisol is a solvent, WD40 is a solvent and an oil, which will do similar in the short term, but it is odd stuff.
18.
If your cabs are Ashdown ABM's, your best choice by miles is to replace the drivers with modern neos. That way, you'll cut the weight and boost the potential output for a fraction of the cost of buying something else.
Then you open the whole speaker replacement and cab tuning thing again.
19. Why dont ported? I means you cut out my lovely rear ported lightweight neo 6x12?

22. As if people played notes above the 7th fret in the 50s.

24. Unsurprisingly, Glen Danzig likes his groupies to dress as himself.
