  1. These cabs look stunning. Just how light are they?
  2. Can I be the first to offer you a tablecloth?
  3. Do these pair nicely with other manufacturers cabs? Looking at ways to replace my single 4ohm 1212L with something louder - maybe this and an 8ohm 1210L would do the trick...
  4. Broke a bass string at a gig once. It was a Rotosound if I recall right, had to finish the tune an octave higher. I player fingerstyle so it must either have been a bad string or I don't know my own strength.
  5. This used to be mine, and if I do say so myself, the top was a bloody lovely bit of flamed maple:
  6. I don't mind either, as long as it's subtle. Flamed works better with lighter finishes and quilting with darker ones, I reckon.
  7. We tend to play at a volume where without earplugs your ears will ring for a day afterwards. Hence I've started wearing them!
  8. They've always appealed to me. The angled speakers and strong mids just make them stand out from the crowd a bit. I'd really like a 410L
  9. I very much like my 1212L. Lovely little cab, does pack a fair punch, but I wish it was 8ohm so I could put another one underneath. I mean, it's loud, sure, but it's not as loud as I'd like in a rock/punk band. If you really push the volume, you tend to have to roll back the lows a touch. Maybe a bigger box would help there, they are dinky.
  10. I got a Spector Legend Custom recently and the neck is really comfy. On a par with the Status 5 strings I owned easily. The sound is a different beast from those entirely, more punch and warmth, less sizzle. Which I prefer, I think!
  11. It doesn't take a brain sturgeon to see that basschat is hooked on puns.
  12. I do want to continue, but I have a feeling if it all gets out of hand I'll be feeling a bit saury for myself. Gutted, even.
  13. All this is giving me a haddock. Could salmon put an end to all of this?
  14. It's no ray, mind.
  15. I'm waiting with baited breath for the next pun.

    Cab advice

Have you tried just using the 15 to see if you get the issue (to rule out the amp itself)? Bit of an odd one really.

    Cab advice

Right, in that case what Stevie said about the head running out of juice could well be the case, as it'll only be putting about 250 watts into it. Have you got the chance to pair it up with another 8ohm cab so your head is running at 500 watts into 4ohms?

    Cab advice

Little Mark 2s pack a lot of power, I wouldn't think it would be the amp running out of steam personally. Do you boost your low end a lot?

    Bump!
  25. I have a 4ohm 1212L, and it's a cracking little cab, however I fancy moving even more air and as such I'm looking to trade it. The cab comes with a padded cover - it's the rhino finish and has taken a few knocks on the corners but it's all cosmetic. If there is any interest, I'll get some pics. So, whaddyagot? My requirements for trades are: it must be light. I can't be doing with carting heavy stuff about, I'm a lazy sod. It must be loud. It must go low. Size then, is not so much an issue. Most likely looking for something like a Markbass, Schroeder or other lightweight 4ohm 4x10, or some sort of 8ohm 2x12.
