  1. Digitech JamMan Solo, the single pedal size one, plus Digitech FS3X footswitch for extra functionality. It also has a useful Aux input. It takes an SD-HC card for storage of loops. Power supply not included. Looper has only been used at home and not a whole lot, and footswitch was never used... so both in great condition. One of those things that felt useful for the band I was in at the time, which never got used in the end... Here's a basic review of this pedal that goes through its functions: https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/guitars/digitech-jamman-solo-251620
  2. I love that Hustle Drive. I use mine mostly on guitar but it's very good on bass too. GLWTS!
  3. Oh, and the Joyo Orange Juice, how could I forget that one!
  4. I've got the Hustle Drive and it's a great overdrive for bass. The Valeton Tube Refiner is also a favourite of mine but it's geared more towards low/mid gain sounds compared to the Hustle Drive.
  5. No noticeable delay for me either, no. I think I read someone's comments about a small delay when using the bluetooth adapter to control it from the phone/tablet, but not when used directly.
  6. It's just to make sure you know what you're not getting.
  7. Indeed, or the NUX Mighty Plug. It's actually supposed to act as a USB interface as well for recording. https://www.amazon.co.uk/NUX-Mighty-Headphone-Amplifier-Bluetooth/dp/B08HR3XBZ2/ref=pd_lpo_1?pd_rd_w=cPfpX&content-id=amzn1.sym.2d229339-2f42-4596-a90d-b81a4f52d6d3&pf_rd_p=2d229339-2f42-4596-a90d-b81a4f52d6d3&pf_rd_r=AY4B1HK86P6WGVWTZ3AN&pd_rd_wg=bglyf&pd_rd_r=969bbeda-fae3-40f8-b221-1d4fa153e19f&pd_rd_i=B08HR3XBZ2&psc=1
  8. I just found out that whatever you put through the AUX input doesn't come out the XLR out, only the TRS... which is great if you want to use this for IEM!
  9. Amazing synth pedal... but as fun as it is, it's not for me and I don't have use for it in my band... The power supply it comes with has a European plug, so you'll need an adaptor for it... or another power supply, as long as it's centre negative and can provide 150 mA.
  10. Cool little bass preamp with drive and DI. The "harmonics" control adds a little extra 'sparkle' especially in combination with the drive. The drive is focused on relatively low gain sounds, so more of an 'aways on thickener' type of drive than a serious overdrive. Decent demo here:
  11. iRig 2 guitar interface. As simple as it gets Bought it during lockdown so that I could do some recordings on a tablet and after that it's lived in its box. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irig2/
  12. Cab simulation pedal (30 cab models) with additional microphone (11 models) and power amp (4 models) simulation, individually switchable, and a separate EQ section. It's IR-based, and it can load custom IRs. 36 user presets. It can be connected to a computer (Win/Mac) and managed using the free Radar software from Mooer. More info: http://www.mooeraudio.com/product/Radar-51.html Great condition, only used at home. Comes with box and power supply.
  13. I bought 2 of these units but I never needed the second one after all, so it sat unused and unopened in my drawer, still wrapped in plastic. Pretty powerful power supply in a tiny box. I've used one of these for about 5 years now. Specs: 6x 9V outputs (150 mA) 1x 12V output (100 mA) 1x 9V output (500 mA) Input : 15V, 1,000mA (UK Plug) Total Output Current : max. 1,000mA from 8 CHs Dimensions : 92(W) x 38(D) x 33(H) mm Weight : 120g
  14. Auralex "Gramma" isolation pad in good condition, only some small marks. It's spent most of its life in my 'toy' room, no smoking or pets. 38 x 58 cm. Collection only. I'm in Edinburgh but happy to drive a little to meet.
  15. I've used (live) my MB-5 SBK stock without any perceived 'muddiness'. I don't get the same sound I get with my Stingray (no surprises there, passive vs active) but it is not muddy. Maybe he just likes a brighter tone.
  16. No, not yet. I decided to wait a little and enjoy it as it was now that the tuning had settled.
  17. Burn Highway Star Knocking at your backdoor ... so hard to just choose a handful! But Burn is probably my favourite.
  18. It turns out that this was a gateway bass... I've ended up buying also a Gold Tone ME. The Gold Tone has a 23" scale. I wasn't sure that 3" would make a huge difference (stop sniggering at the back!) but it feels substantially easier to play, and the lines do help. I'm happy on unlined fretless with the usual 34" scale basses, but the 20" Uke required a lot of focus. The 23" Gold Tone is a little bit easier... and it turns out that getting used to it helps me when I go back to the 20" Batking. The Gold Tone is also a nicer sounding bass, but I still like the Batking too. It has a bit more of that double bass-like 'thump'. Build quality is not much better than the batking, to be honest, but it sounds and plays really good [1] and being solid body with a bolt-on neck it would be very easy to modify/fix. They're really simple instruments. [1] Initially I was not terribly happy, as the E string was a lot quieter than the others. It turns out the saddle was not sitting properly and when pressing on it I'd get a 'pop'. Pressing on the saddle and plucking at the same time showed me that all I had to do was ensure the saddle pressed well against the transducer below. I was going to return it but the fix is simple and those saddle transducers cost less than a tenner (yup!), so no great loss if I messed it up. As a quick test, I put a small piece of plastic between the string and the saddle and that fixed the issue entirely. There are similar reports on Talk Bass with this kind of transducer on various other brand basses. It looks like cutting the thin strip between the offending saddle and the rest is usually enough. It seems a lot easier than the hassle I had with DHL last week to get the bass delivered... so that pushed me towards keeping it. Not ideal after spending over £500, but I'm really fed up with Evri and DHL so I'll fix it myself. I'll try to get some kind of discount from the seller instead... fingers crossed.
  19. A few years ago we recorded one of our songs as a one off. My girlfriend's brother was studying music production and needed a band to record one track with him as part of his coursework... so he asked us. We wrote one new song and away we went. In the intro there were a couple of places where I did something similar to what happens in September. On purpose. Nobody said anything. Later I get the final mix "oh, and I fixed those mistakes in the intro"... :sigh:
  20. As a teenager I hated country, but now... I still haven't changed my mind. So that's twice a 180, right? There are things that I like better/worse than I used to but I don't think I've come to truly dislike something I used to like. In general what's happened is that as time passed I discovered more music and my tastes just widened.
  21. AliExpress is huuuuge. You can't judge all of it just like you can't say all eBay sellers are the same. I've bought a lot of little things over the years from AliExpress. No more issues than I've had on eBay. I've been unhappy a couple of times and I got my money back easily. In fact, I'd say that as a buyer, AliExpress is easier than eBay. Just be sensible, like anywhere else. I once got a pair of brown shorts that were labelled as being red, on eBay. It happens. That's what returns/refunds are for.
