1. I've got an i2M which I use in conjunction with both Reason and Ableton Live, and the latency is so microscopic as to be virtually inaudible. I can use it perfectly in a live situation triggering either midi notes, or as a High-Z audio interface, and it tracks perfectly all the way down to open E. Never used it with my 5 string, but there's a function in the editing software to set it for a 5-string bass. All I would say is, if you're planning on getting one of Sonuus's products (and just on personal experience I'd recommend the i2M), make sure your intonation is dialled in as exact as you can possibly get it, and that your bass is perfectly in tune, otherwise you risk triggering double midi notes while the i2M tries to figure out exactly what note you're trying to play.
2. I've been using this set-up for a while now, and while it sounds great the way I have it set I'm wondering how far up the level of the Sansamp should be to adequately drive the power amp. At the moment I've got the level set at about 2 o'clock and none of the eq levels are extreme, but not long ago I had a speaker expire on me, and I'm wondering whether it was connected to the level of the Sansamp being too high, pushing a clipping signal into the power amp and subsequently the speakers of my cab. Any advice?
3. Could it not have been refretted at some point, and this is as a result of the refret?
4. If anybody gets near Dundee any time soon, keep an eye out for a club night at a place called the Reading Rooms, called "Bass Orgy". A friend of mine and some of his buds built a full, massive PA system consisting only of BFM designs, and it kicks ass! I played live drum & bass through it with a drummer and keyboard player, all of us using Ableton and looping live, and the sound was incredible. Amazingly hi-fi for such a big PA.
5. It's a cracking looking bass, and I bet it sounds fantastic. But at $24,000 I'd be scared to play it at home, never mind do a gig with it. If I can't play it, its completely worthless to me.
6. I saw one of those Overwaters in Red Dog in Edinburgh. They look even better than they do in the photos I've seen!
7. Warmoth it. I built one, and it turned out absolutely perfectly.

9. One of my friends, Scotty Donald, is doing live looping just like this, and it is the absolute bollocks! He's doing everything from trip-hop, dn'b, dubstep, all sorts of nutty stuff. Check out some of his videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/scottydrumbass He's also doing stuff with a band called Man's Ruin, which is a mashup of Celtic music, funk and jazz. Think he's got some videos on his page from when they did a BBC Radio Scotland live broadcast. This was his first wee experiment using the Roland SPDS, and a scaled down set-up.

It looks like there are some new ones in, including an UNLINED FRETLESS and a FIVE STRING Bet these move really quickly. The fretless looks particularly naughty!!
11.
Bought on ebay to strip for spares. Actually it is fine aside from setup tweaking, so aside from robbing the Hipshot from it and putting the original machine head back, I'll cheerfully leave this as a working instrument. There is a switch added for S1 switching (I assume). The blocks look nice, but are stick ons. I love the look of blocked rosewood, but I can't deal with skinny jazz necks. I'm usually pretty heartless when it comes to stripping out no-name basses, so leaving it as is reflects upon how nice this is. Neck has a nice satin finish.
Pretty sure that's one of the early Retrovibe basses. They went pretty quickly, and the switch is a series/parallel switch. 12. I thought about having a punt on one of the basses from these guys, most likely the natural Chord CJB62: http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?startp...ew=Bass_Guitars

16.
I'm guessing here but I doubt he was putting new strings on very regularly. What he's playing are 'used' rounds not 'new' rounds. I'd be happy to be corrected on this.
I remember reading somewhere (probably in his autobiography), that Jaco changed his strings very regularly indeed, and always before a gig; apparently it was integral to the ringing harmonics.
17. Wow! That is well worth £650. Someone is gonna get a cracking bass! If only I had the pennies....

19. Don't think you'll get many offers without pictures of your bass.....
20. I've got one of these, and while I do like it (and the pitch-to-midi conversion is super-speedy!), I just cant get it to trigger notes cleanly using a bass, no matter what I do. I've tried adjusting my playing considerably, playing on the neck pickup, turning the tone control down, and even pre-conditioning the signal to make it better for the i2M to track, but I still keep getting double triggered notes on it. I've tried it with every bass I've got, and nothing. I think in order to get it to work, I'll need to raise the action on my basses well beyond where I like it, and some people also advocate lighter strings, which would basically make it uncomfortable to use. I may well have to forego the midi aspect of it, and use it merely as an audio interface for Guitar Rig and Ableton. But if anyone's got any advice on how to stop double triggering, please feel free to fire in.
21. Where was this a week ago? If I hadnt just bought RichValentine's RI, I'd have jumped at this, its exactly what I was looking for; a Marcus, without the stupid pickguard! Lovely looking bass.
Up for sale is my 1985 Fender Jazz '75 reissue, made in Japan. Stunning condition for 26 years old! The tuning pegs are tarnished with age but they seem to work well. VERY deep powerful pickups that can rattle our windows, pots are very slightly scratchy but you can cure this with a spray of Servisol switch cleaner. Truly wonderful to behold and I'm only selling to buy a new G&L. There is a mark or slight scratch next to the bridge, you can see it in the pics. I'm looking for £550 + carriage for this and it's worth it. Thanks for looking.
22. And I'm the lucky chappie who got it! Cheers, Rich.
23. Hmmm.....strange things are afoot at the Circle K!
24. I've got a Warmoth Dinky J that I put together myself, and here's some photos: The LEDs were installed by Martin Sims. It has a string-thru alder body with cream finish, a birdseye maple neck and fretboard with Abalone front dots, vintage tint finish and the headstock painted to match the body, stainless steel 6230 frets, Gotoh 206 bridge, Fender Custom Shop 60s single coil pickups, and series/parallel push-pull pot which I wired in later. Its my main bass, I love it dearly, as does everyone who's played it. My feeling is that I basically got a Fender Custom Shop bass for a fraction of the price, and all I'm missing is a decal or two. I'd recommend Warmoth's stuff to anybody who wants a Fender, but doesn't want to pay their prices for a cookie-cutter bass off a shelf. And if anybody says you can't assemble it yourself and end up with a fantastic instrument, they're lying! I taught myself everything to assemble this, from soldering to setting up, and it is as perfect as it can get.
