Smooth deal on an envelope filter. Have funk (groan), many thanks!

It's 'the one that I want' out of the basses on here - A few large and somewhat unknown expenses forecast for the next month just mean it's an irresponsible time to start waving such a chunk of cash around! Part - ex for an RBX 375..?
The core tone is superb & the electrics put paid to the notion that flexibility demands an active EQ.
Passive a big plus IMO - can't see the point in forcing your signal through a second-rate EQ if the bass sounds decent in the first place.

I don't have "a sound". Is something wrong with me?
You are definitely weird, diet coke? That's just wrong....
+1 Diet coke sounds different to open than normal coke. Hollower click and more fizz. -
SOLD - thanks. Hello, Bought this from another forumite recently hoping it would be a drop-in replacement for the neck on my cheap P-copy - however it looks like I'd have to do a bit of basic woodwork to make a good job and I don't really have the bits or time. Fair bit of playing wear to the laquer on the edges of the neck as shown in pics. Apart from that it looks and feels like a nice solid plank, no major bangs - was looking forward to having a go! Truss rod turns smoothly. Any questions let me know, though I've not actually had it on a bass. No logo on headstock, so ready for yours! With the authentic wear, could be great for a 'relic' project, or just to stick on a body and see what happens. Tuners included.

Sad admission - losing sleep, obsessed with gear !
topo morto replied to hamfist's topic in General Discussion
I have pretty much been a GAS man my whole life, on and off... first keyboards, then computer/VST software, and now guitar and bass gear... It's pretty natural, all part of our hunter/gatherer mindset! I think the thing I've really been after, though, is not the gear itself but just the knowledge of how to get various different sounds. I hope I'm at a point where most of those mysteries are cleared up, and I will be happier with a small amount of gear (the fact that so much is possible on computers now helps - not that I have a lot of software any more, but it's only a click away if I do want it!) Everyone needs a quest and once you are over that line where you basically know what your sound(s) is/are and have the gear to make them, it's time for another quest. Get obsessed with technique, songwriting, learning to sing while playing.... I think it obsessions are only mega unhealthy when you get focused on one thing so much that you step over the line of diminishing returns and you are disappearing up your own backside pursuing something that you basically already have. Ultimately, always just ask yourself: Does this help me with the ladies? (Which is the point of hunting/gathering in the first place) -
