1. Took a venerable Boss Pedal off my hands. All good, many thanks!
2.
What kind of distortion can be achieved with Roger Mayer Voodoo bass? I've never seen one of these before...
OK, so here's a better video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBarc95bgFw
3.
What kind of distortion can be achieved with Roger Mayer Voodoo bass? I've never seen one of these before...
not sure how much help that is! It's not a bass-specific distortion, but a bassy distortion that works for bass and guitar. It's more of a vintage sound, so plenty of mids - think VT bass with the character knob to the left, or SFT with the treble pulled down. Not as sophisticated as those newer boxes, but touch-sensitive enough to be fun to play, and keeps lows OK unless you push the distortion too high.
4. SMMH, Myrtle and FT2 sold. Should be posted out tomorrow. Sub Lime added!
5. What is this 'television' thing? Is it something people used to do in the olden days before there was the internet?
6. Oddly I just sent off one of those today! (For the second time... sold it a while ago but it came bouncing back due to my eyes failing me when reading the address... ) Those are great for doing the 'add clean to give you lows' thing, because an actual clean bass sound is mostly lows... unfortunately in my imagined usage the clean sound would be already fuzzed up, 'cos the mammoth is at the start of the chain. The obvious solution would be to put the mammoth in a blender loop, but it's not so happy in that situation (same thing as mammoths not liking active basses), nor is the other fuzz I might use for this (Death by audio soundwave breakdown). I have tried an Oxide (supposedly less sensitive to what you feed it) but I didn't like it so much. I think a proper crossover might reduce the chance of problems of unwanted interactions between the low and swept high signals..? I've tried using an LS2 with a Xerograph and a Wonderlove filter in the loops, and a very cool sound it is, but it gets a bit messy when both filters are swept low...
7. That's definitely something I'd like to try! In this case though what I want the crossover for is to place after a fuzz (something like a mammoth, which has a decent amout of low end) and then use the x-over to allow me to stick a fliter on the top band while leaving the lower band unassailed.

9. Is the SFX X&M the only crossover-in-a-pedal? Looks like it might not be available at the moment. Nearest thing seems to be a 'Rolls' one that takes 12V and is probably tricky to get here. Annoyingly, rack crossovers seem to be ten a penny on ebay!

11. Just checking you've seen http://basschat.co.uk/topic/189843-sansamp-vt-bass-v2-with-di-and-parallel-out-mod-l160/
12. After 4 feedback pages I guess it hardly needs saying, but I'll say it anyway : lovely chap, deal wih confidence!
13. Just bought a pedal - Chris even recognised that I was the kind of person who might have trouble opening the box it was shipped in, and gave me instructions. Which, to be fair to myself, I still remembered the next day when it arrived, and managed to open it tidily without anything falling on the floor. Excellent! Thanks.
14. The Portuguese Phantom delivers again! Pedal travelling the other way this time - arrived exactly when predicted, good for a (virtual) chin-wag too. Thanks!
15. There was a guy after one of these: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/189997-zoom-ultra-fuzz-wanted/
16. Sold a pedal to Marc - transaction nice and easy, let me know when it had arrived, what more can you ask really?
17. Another pedal customer here - the box in question arrived sharpish and all as described. Much appreciated!
