Oddly I just sent off one of those today! (For the second time... sold it a while ago but it came bouncing back due to my eyes failing me when reading the address... )
Those are great for doing the 'add clean to give you lows' thing, because an actual clean bass sound is mostly lows... unfortunately in my imagined usage the clean sound would be already fuzzed up, 'cos the mammoth is at the start of the chain. The obvious solution would be to put the mammoth in a blender loop, but it's not so happy in that situation (same thing as mammoths not liking active basses), nor is the other fuzz I might use for this (Death by audio soundwave breakdown). I have tried an Oxide (supposedly less sensitive to what you feed it) but I didn't like it so much.
I think a proper crossover might reduce the chance of problems of unwanted interactions between the low and swept high signals..? I've tried using an LS2 with a Xerograph and a Wonderlove filter in the loops, and a very cool sound it is, but it gets a bit messy when both filters are swept low...
