not sure how much help that is!

It's not a bass-specific distortion, but a bassy distortion that works for bass and guitar. It's more of a vintage sound, so plenty of mids - think VT bass with the character knob to the left, or SFT with the treble pulled down. Not as sophisticated as those newer boxes, but touch-sensitive enough to be fun to play, and keeps lows OK unless you push the distortion too high.
