1.
Okay, i wanted this pedal but this bothers me. Does the zoom bypass only cause this hiss when active switch is selected, or does it always add noise to an active bass in bypass? Or have i misunderstood you?
For me I can hear a slight hiss - when I play a note - AND the switch is set to active - AND and when the unit is in bypass OR set to a patch that doesn't 'hide' the hiss. The passive / active switch is supposed to switch between low and high impedance. Maybe there's some other interaction with my equipment going on. it seems fine with the switch in passive mode (even with an active bass or boost pedal before it). There doesn't seem to be much difference in headroom between the positions. Possibly worth getting some other (maybe better-informed) opinions! I will re-iterate that with the switch to passive, the quality is spot on... no complaints.
 2. Sent an sfx signal processor Pete's way... friendly, fast and easy sale. Many thanks!
 3. Any clips anywhere? The link on http://basschat.co.uk/topic/118840-sfx-micro-black-dragon-distortion-review/ doesn't seem to go where it suggests...
 4.
Hardly touched the sides
If I'm to waste as much time as possible trying pedals I need to keep the turnover high! Yes, the day will come when I realise I need this, but that day is not today. Had to try it to find that out though so thanks!
 5. If you're an energetic player and you ever feel your amp or speakers aren't quite keeping up, this is for you. Read all about it here: http://www.sfxsound....cro_thumpinator and on t*lkbass:: http://www.talkbass....ct/1568/cat/500 Bit of a luxury for my playing / amping habits as I rarely drive my amp very hard (I like to hide!). I could just use it with the mini system in my kitchen, but I understand that these are in limited supply so... here it is! £90 posted in the UK. Sold . Thank you!
 6.
Very interested in this thing after reading the great but honest comments and reviews. How does the tuner compare to a tu2 or a korg pitch-black? Is it visible on stage and accurate?
It has 7 big LED's on the top so I don't see a problem with it being visible unless you're on a stadium stage. Maybe not quite as visible as the pitchblack plus I had but probably more visible than a TU2? As for accurate... well it agrees with my other tuners!
Is it a huge tonesuck...?
My P copy is often slightly helped by going into a buffer and it's no difference here - I prefer the sound going though the B3 in bypass to cable only. With the passive bass in general it's quite good. Not so good with an active, I get a strage hissing sound on every note (that's with the switch on the back switched to 'Active')
 7.
Radioshack sound level meter
What's the range like on this? can it do whispering and screaming?
 8. Purchased a programmable BDDI that I am very happy with. It arrived quickly and cutely packaged... no stress or fuss. Or fuzz. Because it's not a fuzz. Many thanks!
 9. So, I just got this from the OP. Does that mean I own this thread too now? All IMHO of course: Obviously first thing to try is all the distortions... I think some hit the mark, some don't. Muff is not that good, too compressed sounding 'inside' the sound. On the other hand they have got the character of the bass BB pretty accurately. The rat 'squeak' is well - thought out, with a blend added - best of all IMO is the DI + (MXR sim). For cleaner fatness, The Bottom B and Booster are nice, and the Bass Driver is decent enough - although you can get your fatness and warmth from the amp sims. Delays are good, with the analogue delay being quite convincing and the Filter delay is nice. So are all the filters actually - including the envelope filters. This makes up for the synths which are for low tempos only, although they sound good. The '4 voice syn' and Bitcrusher are good creative effects. My favourite effect? 'BendCho' - a little pitch bend up or down effect triggered on note start. In terms of the design, it is a shame that the footswitches aren't more assignable, especially for tap tempo, as I'd quite like to use tap tempo AND the input mute with the delays rather than have to choose. Another missed trick (unless it's me that's mising it) is the ability to do different routings for the effects, e.g. 1 and 2 in series and then 3 in parallel with those. Overally - It's pretty nifty. Because I'm a 'bit of drive and that's it' type I was expecting to try it for a few days and move it on, which may be what I end up doing... but I do like it. we shall see!
 10. Nice easy purchase of Zoom's latest and greatest. Smartly and robustly packaged. All is good. Many thanks!
 11. Warm and fuzzy transaction on a Woolly mammoth. Many thanks!
 12. Took my Sansamp Deluxe off my hands... Good comms, let me know when it was there. Many thanks!
 13. Bought a few things over the long weekend... first thing to arrive was an sfx pedal from Brian. All very fast and friendly, many thanks!
 14. Woolly Mammoth - £140 posted - on hold pending payment. Great condition overall - a few small nicks on the back corner which I have just realised the photos don't show, but pretty shiny overall. Original version powered by battery only, though it's not much of an issue as battery lasts ages... (just pretend it's not electric at all!) Serial No D186, 5.9.05. See also http://basschat.co.u...old-price-drop/ . Will be popping a couple of things on eBay tomorrow and may do the same with this, so do let me know if interested!
 15. Bass Driver Sold - Price drop on the Inferno (I bought something, as I always do when I have these selling sprees!)
 16. Only used it at home so far but the Sub Lime is very nice-sounding - I just snagged one from eBay. Not sure what international shipping would come to though!
 17.
never used outside of the bedroom, not even been on the floor my foot has not even touched it!
It must be rubbish then. Payment sent nevertheless!
 18.
HI, intrested in a trade with an MXR envelope filter/auto wah? http://basschat.co.u...88-bass-auto-q/
Hmm... might be.... PM'd you.
 19.
How's the inferno sound on bass (any bass loss)
Maintains the bass end pretty well... about the same as my triangle big muff clone. It's not putting extra bass in like a bass big muff so depending on what you thought was the eqivalent volume setting for effect off and on you might think it loses a bit, or not at all. One of those slightly subjective things...
is the sound muff like or more fuzz face like
I'm not sure if I could accurately describe the difference between muff and face when it comes to bass! I think it's its own thing really. The 'heat' knob gives you a good touch sensitive snarl and the 'smoke' knob gets you a more compressed kind of 'amp blowing up' sound. For a high gain fuzz it's quite a touch sensitive and interesting sound, not flat and buzzsawy. It's a bit hissy at some settings but nothing you'd really notice in the mix. I could put some clips up but I'd probably end up getting into it and keeping it!
 20.
How's the inferno sound on bass (any bass loss) is the sound muff like or more fuzz face like
It's pretty good in that regard but I've not really listened to it with a critical ear. I'll have a go and get back to you!
 21.
Thumpinator sold and posted today....
Thanks! Looking forward to seeing if it actually does anything
