  1. I’ve not personally paid, but a band I was in years ago bought onto a tour (the record company stumped up the costs).
  2. Does seem to be a thing that more companies are taking note of, a real plus point imo.
  3. I got it from Gear4Music - next day delivery by 10:30 as well, was impressed.
  4. Most people getting on stage are doing it for a laugh, don`t have any intentions of breaking anything, it`s their night out and they`re just getting a bit merry and over-excited. I do find this happens more with covers bands in regular pubs rather than originals bands, no idea why. But if their behaviour is getting to a point where it`s unsafe, either for them or the band then simply give them a good firm push and yell f**k off at them, and be prepared to hit them full pelt if needed (tho not if it`s ladies, irrespective of their behaviour I`m sorry, it might not be equal treatment but I`m not walloping women).
  5. Yep, and for some reason which I don’t understand the 800w version is about 13kg - which is why I went for it rather than the 500, that saving of 13kg does make a difference.
  6. The Kung Fu Kickers?
  7. You like your Pbass You like flat wound strings You like Ernie Ball strings So a set of their Cobalt flats could be the solution, as much more roundwound sounding than regular flats.
  8. Sorry to hear you didn’t get it @police squad
  9. Currently on is Guy Garvey: From The Vaults 1983. Listening to these songs takes me back, my formative year, the one where I left school & started work, bought my first motorbike, discovered girls & beer, developed new friendships other than people from school including meeting other musicians and trying to set up new bands.
  10. Bass Direct and Bass Bros aren’t too far away from your area, def worth a look.
  11. Aguilar DB599 is 3.65” x 1.5” x 1.25”
  12. Tech21 VT500? Would think that would be good for those tones.
  13. Yeah horses for courses as they say. All of my gigs have FOH so it would make things much easier for my very dodgy back to gig with just a preamp pedal to FOH. I`ve done it before at gigs when the provided amp has taken a turn for the worse and it went well, I`m fine with it though do still prefer the sound of an amp behind me rather than in my monitors.
  14. Although I love having an amp & cab behind me I’m still mulling over gigging with a preamp/DI pedal straight to FOH. Only thing is we don’t do many gigs with soundchecks - @BigRedX do you encounter any issues with just having line checks at all?
  15. I remember being rather impressed by the demo on YouTube of the Aguilar DB599.
  16. Sell your aftermarket pickguard and buy the one I’m selling on here which has the truss-rod cutout?
  17. Great that a well known music business is going to Denmark St, rather than another one leaving.
  18. I`ve never really been a drug user - did a bit of speed when younger but drink was always my bag. I always found dope-smokers to be the worst ones to get motivated, to the point where at one band practice our guitarist turned up without his guitar. It was like working with Dylan from The Magic Roundabout. I should add however that whilst it might have been a tiresome process in getting him/them going, they never caused any aggro, I`d far prefer it that way round than dealing with a coke-head wanting to wallop everyone.
  19. Simon bought a pedal from me, nice easy transaction and advised of safe delivery, something I always appreciate
  20. Re spares, I put a couple in my back right hand side pocket, should I drop my pick I can get one from there in a matter of seconds.
  21. Similarly I keep a spreadsheet of what I own but don’t include what I’ve moved on.
  22. I love the end of Layla, best part of the song for me, though much of that for the piano as for the guitar.
  23. There`s too many things that can be looked at in music - is it right that a £70 ticket gets "dynamically priced" at £350. Is it right that people, after paying that £350 to see a singer actually get a dance show with the singer miming. I`d prefer these things to be looked at first.
  24. It`s a strange one, I look at vids of 80s rock bands such as Motley Crue in their heydays and they were great when all completely ruined, yet now when all sober & healthy, well not quite so good.
  25. For myself it will be once I no longer feel right/comfortable doing it. Whether that be due to health or whatever who knows.
