1. The four string one isnt mine actually, that would just be silly, lol
2. Gratuitous ebmm stuff on hangers.....just the cheap hangers off ebay and that black Ray 5 is quite heavy!
3. All I can add is have fun! Gambas rule too, lol
4. Bergs are always nice IMO , that said I wouldn't bother swapping my early neoxT for one, I'd rather but a pair of Bergs than another single 2x12.
5. Such a cool looking bass! And confirmation of a five with the single coils too, thanks for the review. 5 SSS in sparkly silver please
6. So you are saying if he had said no you would have sold it for nearly half what you are asking on here for it? If we did not know you and fiatcoupe on here and just saw the bass relisted on ebay with a buy it now for £550 a week after it had sold for £300 we would be saying what a w***er ebay timewaster wouldn't we?
7. Beach ball through the sound hole, blow it up, job done Double bass standard trick for volume gigs.
8. Its not a witch hunt, so what you found a fellow basschatter who was happy to let you go back on your words, ive had it done to me so many times on ebay that it boils my piss. I said in the first place that its good that you were honest in your reasoning rather than coming up with a silly story about it being stolen or broken after the sale, still a poor show imo
9. Those Genz contour combos that were sold off at the end were going for this kind of money I think, you really won't beat one with anything for the same money, that's a fact not an IMO
10. "another sale fell through"
11. Ah really I fancied the sss but it needs to be a five, they are so rare colour and pickup options would have to be pot luck anyway!
12. The lol was aimed at discreet Ian, took ages to update, lol
13.
I don't really understand what you're saying here - the people you've quoted have stated facts about how much they know some pro musicians can earn so they aren't 'opinions'?
Well I understood it and agree with him, I know people who earn much more than me but never have any spare money because they have a much more lavish lifestyle than me. The factual examples given are meaningless without knowing their personal circumstances, a guy bumming around crashing with mates or parents that had no children and is happy as long as they have a few meals a day and a bed to sleep in is going to be able to be in a full time music job playing covers easier than a guy with four teenage children,a massive mortgage on a five bed house in London and a wife that won't leave the house without a grands worth of clothes on and drives a range rover evoque but won't work herself.
14. If you post up some pics of the nut and bridge we should be able to diagnose further, and welcome to double bass anyway!
15. The Gedo basses are shipped without the strings fitted and the bass stood up in it's crate with no sound post problems,I wonder why they don't drop out, are they tighter on new basses until the wood settles over time?
16. Surely it will need a new nut and the bridge re profiling for the strings to be swapped? If it's a non adjustable bridge you might have to have a new one fitted now anyway or did the seller give you the right hand bridge, if the bass started life as a lefty the finger board could be profiled wrong for right hand use on some basses.
17.
Now that really is devotion..! A lap steel is difficult enough; pedal steel several degrees more so, plus the high cost of an instrument even to learn on..! Good luck in that venture; keep us posted as to results..? Back on topic... Yes, a change is as good as a rest, and there is, indeed, a whole world out there, beyond the db. Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but it's so...
Unless it involves Nicole Sherzinger, Kelly Brook and a Desert Island I will stick with the DB
18. My shuttle max 9.2 isn't suitable for home use, the shuttle 6.0 would be and it has a head phone socket, the fan is quieter than most class D heads. The shuttle 3.0 is perfect as it has no fan, can be pushed further without annoying the neighbours yet will power a good 4x10 or 2x12 at a full on gig.
19. I'm not saying this is the case here but most times I hear "we like to control our own sound" it translates to "we like to deafen the whole pub, probably empty it and make everyone drink in the pub a few doors up"
20. I can't understand why they are so rare?
21. The Genz shuttle 300 Watt version hasn't got a fan finding one for sale might not be so easy though....
22. Its no witch hunt its fair criticism for poor service on ebay, the fact the seller has a lot of good feedback only proves he knew full well how the types of listing work!
23. We use an LD soundsystems pa, it could be mistaken for a guitar amp but it has a tall stack of speakers on top, the other bands arent using something similar are they? its great for pub gigs but we pair it up with some mackie tops and a 1600 watt amp when needed.
24. I'd be round in a flash if I was nearer Gareth! Prime bass, that is awesome even with the wrong number of strings fitted!
