1. I swap my batteries and strings once a year now, all three at the same time
2.
Fixed that for you there...
Have they changed the modern stingray then without me looking?
3. I'm really looking forward to it, my ab pedal has arrived at my parents as I'm in Spain but I should be able to get it set up to use both the mag pickup and the kk bass max together with a shuttle 3.0 and 1x10 cab on Sunday.
4. The ATK is great as long you dont want a bass that looks or sounds like a Stingray
5.
Actually, I forgot that Nate Newton from Converge used a Stingray for quite a while (since switched to Precisions). Unconventional but awesome Stingray tone at 0:40 on this track!
I wasn't familiar with them, thats easy listening covered now then too
6.
You missed out Acoustic David Bowie, Live Acoustic "Heroes": http://youtu.be/pBiiFplMWls
Sorry yes clearly no good for that either! Can we decide which of these tricks it is good at is the one trick it does? If you can't cover every genre with one you need to look closer to home imo
7. All these clips of Disco, Pop, Rock, Funk, Soul, Ballads, Prog Rock, Blues, 80's Slap etc are just high lighting just what a one trick pony the Stingray really is
8. I am on PC now so here are some links, there grasp of different styles is excellent. The original one TNIT linked that got me hooked All I can say is http://youtu.be/_PVLCZE_ov0
9. I will be after some tickets for that then! What a great bunch of musicians, sounds like I am only number 2 fan of Robyn then after all?
10. Because it was my last ever free gig, there will be no more updates
11. So thisnameistaken put a link to a cover of that "All about that bass" by Kate Davis in the db section, its great! So as you do I start browsing and watch the other clips, Scott is the pianist then the other artists and genres are mixed up covers, some are fecking ace and the dark haired singer is well.. If anyone has better skills than me can you link a couple of clips for me as im on a tablet thing it takes me ages,ta. Love it! Im thinking there was a thread regarding post modern jukebox now?
12. Do it do it do it!
13. Blimey that did go quick, I only fitted my schaller 411 because it sold so quick last time
14. There is something special about a black/black/maple stingray, just a proper bass
15. I am a man of my word and it was one of the better charity gigs due to the audience enjoying it
16. I think there are some brilliant and high profile picked Stingray songs out there?! http://youtu.be/8I8mWG6HlmU Take it away Cliff, surely the master of a killer Stingray pick tone? http://youtu.be/44XYEeD1A1U

18. Schaller 411 has made live gigs so much easier! A bit of slap creeping in?
19. Yep, he loves it! The gig went well, we played well in fact I think I played better on upright than regular bass for the first time ever! As we thought the members did not turn up en mass even after they agreed a deal where they could pay nothing or a suggested donation of £2, so £2 for a buffet and a live band and they still stayed at home, dont agree to letting the venue do these events if you dont want them to. There was about 40-50 people though and about five Labradors The dog trainers were quite grumpy, non of them thanked us directly, only the old guy who was sort of in charge and taking the ticket money, raffle etc thanked us on the mic at the end of the evening, luckily the general audience were great and we did 3 lots of encores and over ran by about 25 mins So there you go.
20. Hhhmm weird, you wouldn't think the new one would be worse than the old one would you, be good to compare it to someone elses as maybe you have a duff one?
21. Just collecting my mate (roadie!) 6pm set up not far away, first set about 8.30
22. I have a normal poly tune it has no problem with low B and can even follow a fairly quick bass line on my upright bass too, how will is the bass set up regarding intonation, could it be producing some weird extra tones firing up the poly function? I've known the phase thing of a jazz bass cause trouble with tuners, selecting a single pickup or playing near the bridge helped a lot.
23. Well my wife and her sister are coming so I will probably pay for theirs
24.
Speaking of excellent lady bassists, I don't think I've seen this vid posted on BC yet: https://www.youtube....h?v=iyTTX6Wlf1Y
Brilliant!
