The best thing is not get hung up on the numbers too much other than matching the minimum ohms load cab combination to the head, if you were to try a good quality single 8 ohm 4x10 with your head putting out the same175watt you do now it would fill the room out loads more than the 1x10 setup, two 8 ohm 4x10s with your head then giving 300 watts might surprise a few people what a box not much bigger than a VHS cassette can do! I had a 'debate' on here a few years ago with a guy who wanted a new head to get more volume but only had a single cheap brand very compact 2x10 cab, I don't recall what head he had but it was quite big, Streamliner 900 maybe, I said my 3.0 with the large Genz 2x12T cab would demolish his setup but he was having none of it, fixed on the 900 watt Vs 300 watt head part! I presume he has very trashed 2x10 cab these days
That's the sort of finish I'd expect on a HBenton DIY bass - at £68
At £68 for that lot it does make you wonder how they get to £1400 for something like my US std Jazz V doesn't it? Won't stop me buying more though so I guess that is why and yet they are still millions in debt! Lol -
Agree 100% (he says, with a sunburst Jazz and a white Precision within arm's length!)
Ha well there you go, I'm halfway there with the Jazz and I have a hankering for a white P5 -

Best keep an eye on how far up the arm contour the 3 tone burst starts to go! the word that jumps out at me was "firewood".... -
He's got himself a Warwick..as seen in this The Voice USA clip.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2c5h2D9IQI ..pause on 0.30 for a good view of it
A fine choice and a link to Zender via Ronson after all.

My mate works at the BBC in Bristol, the only person he has ever been star struck by was Terry Nutkins! RIP Terry.

It doesn't matter really does it? Fender have been releasing awful new models every year for as long as I can remember, no one takes any notice providing they keep making 3tsb Jazz basses and Oly white P basses they will shift more units than everyone else and at the same time probably get into more debt -

Imagine how many extra orders were placed during the closure of the store from people spending christmas money all over europe! I think we need to be realistic, if this was a UK store they would be hiding behind the holiday period as an excuse until what March? Lol, looks like they took about three days all in to catch up and as someone else pointed out wasn't the 6th a holiday too, fair play I say. -
I bought some Aguilar hum cancelling pickups and installed them in my 2013 4-string US Standard Fender Jazz . They were very good pickups but the custom shop Fender pickups are actually superb themselves and I underestimated them so I took the Aguilar's out again and stored them. That's the one potential drawback, depending on your personal opinion, with your 5-string US Standard Fender Jazz dude. The pickups are great but they're not the CS model versions. A bit naughty from Fender in my opinion. And I think I'm going to buy the same model Fender Jazz you've got now, but I might get it in olympic white
I wanted white! I've heard mixed reviews of the cs jazz pickups tbh and swapping the pups would be easier than trying to add a B string later

Cool, that's not helping my five string p Bass gas though

A drunken friend was out at a country pub near me a few years ago, Roy Wood was in there (He lives near here) my mate spent the night telling HIM he was Ronnie Wood! Still to this day him and his wife that he was withat the time fall out about it as he says it was Ronnie Wood that he was calling Roy Wood all night, I trust his sober wife and Roy Wood lives a few miles away from the pub in question!

There is going to be a squier version of the Teddy Lee with cool kung fu graphics, Teddy worked with the design team personally to create a fitting tribute to his brother.

A solid state amp and fifteen inch speaker is still my favourite combination too, the science and my ears disagree sometimes I think the USA standard fenders are better than some people realise, I'm very happy with mine and the others in two different shops had no issues either. Enjoy and I've got white bass gas again now, thanks!

Ah that's interesting to know, any idea what sort of five it was?
I'm really not clever enough to work out what you just posted then Pete..
Well I confused myself to be honest! I think the jist of my brain wave was that if two manufacturers had the exact same rate of flawed items for every thousand items made the bigger volume producer will produce more flawed items that then get flagged up by the internet massive.

So does he live but the recorded versions would sound a bit thin to me without the lower notes imo, maybe drop D but the the higher bits would be further away and the riffs harder to play, ill stick with my 5s

0.1 percent of 10000 instruments is 10 0.1 percent of 1000 instruments is 1 If a shop had 1 brand X bass and 10 Fenders you could be unlucky enough for all 11 basses to be rubbish
-
We used to do a few Bruno tracks in my old band they all needed a fiver or VERY fast hands and a bass strung B to D!

2 hour practice with my Fender last night, lovely
Ive got a picture of myself, i'm playing a Fender with a music stand in use. Should I hand myself in , or wait till they come?
Oh they already know

A second 1x10 genz cab would sound great but might not be enough still, if you add another larger 8 ohm cab it might sound great but at the same time the 10 might be ruined without you hearing it! A single 4 ohm cab and a speakon lead instead of your 1x10 combo connected would be best imo, the shuttle 3.0 only has a single output connection too so make sure if you buy or borrow a pair of cabs they have parallel input connections and a pair of leads to daisy chain them, does that make sense?
I know it doesn't mean much, but when they performed it live on the US version of "the Voice", the guy played a Precision style bass. I know, i know, it doesn't gaurantee it was on the record, and the performance may have been "mimed", I'm just saying
He always plays one live yet the bruno mars records are full of 5 string bass, I dont know why, too cool to be seen with a fiver live?

As long as the online stores stay in business we can have an infinite selection of instruments delivered within a few days at the best price so from a selfish point of view what will we lose if the shops close?
-
I don't follow ... why would you have a multi-channel pre-amp?
Because he has two outputs from his bass, these then get mixed together into one output into the amp or pa.
