  1. Steven Wilson on guitar there.
  2. Well I like the simplicity of a single knob. But I'm not about to trade in my JMJ from the short-scale corner of my bass wardrobe, nor fill in the space reserved for a Wilcock, for one of these (sorry Joe)
  3. Spot on. Also seen in Supertramp tribute Logical Tramp.
  4. As hard as I have tried I could never sustain a beard of that magnitude (he's also a better bass player than me when it comes to Rush, despite me having a GL sig Jazz, 70s Ricky 4001, Geddy preamp pedal and endless enthusiasm for the music) Full disclosure: the singer is a good friend and one of the nicest guys there are, and fronts up more heavy rock covers acts in south-west London than I could possibly remember. I'll be sending on your reviews.
  5. First gig has been announced for June 28th, in Bracknell I think
  6. https://invisibleairwaves.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552872658641 Here's their Tom Sawyer. Other full-song clips are on their website.
  7. This is the biggest compliment I expect to receive today
  8. When it comes to online magazines, I'm still impressed by the quality of writing by the ex-(US) Bass Player staff, now at Bass Magazine, who still publish occasional "magazines" as well at regular online content at https://bassmagazine.com/issues/
  9. In the olden days I subscribed to Bass Player (US first, then UK version when it flipped) and I think I have all copies of Bassist. Are there any left actual bass magazines left?
  10. I'm in a facebook group called Books About Music, you'll find lots of inspo there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/652308845438533 This is one photo I've submitted
  11. And how are you finding being King after such a long time as Prince of Wales?
  12. No, she's a brunette. OH, I see what you mean.
  13. And from the other side, bonus points if you can id the bass amp:
  14. As promised. This man has approx six hours experience of ring wearing (and despite the look on my face, there's a few more years bass-playing experience) So even with full cross-neck extension to the E string there's no danger of the ring getting in the way of the G string, never mind what my wife said later that night. Maybe if you're playing a 7-string or something daft.
  15. Same here. In fact for the curious I'm happy to share a photo of my ring on my wedding night *insert kenneth williams gif here* I'll dig it out later on.
  16. No problem here with mine, that part of the ring finger tends to stay out of trouble just off the lower (in height) side of the neck. If you grip the neck really hard with a thumb-over type of grip you might have more to deal with though
  17. Music reading lessons (you'll be thanked for it eventually)
  18. or Glasgow
  19. or Sheffield?
  20. Were you at Wolverhampton?
  21. Or even https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2019/12/17/bass-transcription-tracy-wormworths-bass-line-on-christmas-wrapping-by-the-waitresses/
