I’ve often thought about getting a Vigier. I guess I’ve left it too late now. There’s a lovely Passion IV for sale, but I think I would prefer the pick-up position on the Arpege. That said, I’ve not played either, so it’s just pie in the sky for me really. Sad to hear Patrice is calling it a day, but nothing lasts for ever and he’s doing it on his own terms, so good luck to him.

….further dates in Belarus possible. Prospective candidates should be able to fit in with existing line-up, although any dates outside Russia/Belarus will have to be played with a dep drummer.

Two months gone and I'm still in. I'm bracing myself for failure at a moments notice though 😂

Yes. Is there something we should know?

One of those VEGA CD's sold for £17.99 on eBay recently. Probably a more realistic price point.

Notifications stopped working?
hiram.k.hackenbacker replied to neepheid's question in Site Issues and Questions
No notifications for me either. Posts don’t seem to take straight away either for some reason. -
I messaged them a little while ago, certainly within the last few weeks about a bass they have for sale and the response was almost instant, coupled with follow up replies to further questions I had. I'd say your experience is unusual.

Well, it depends on the reasoning. If it was an authentic tribute band where the members were male, they may have a point. I presume this is not such a case?

Are these Fodera NYC Empires real or fake?
hiram.k.hackenbacker replied to LLOYDWT's topic in Bass Guitars
Have you tried e-mailing Fodera directly? Every time I have done so they have responded quickly and with detail. -
I have to say that although all your points are valid, I wouldn’t break it down for them other than making them aware of the distance involved. The price is the price. They’ll book you or they won’t. A detailed breakdown probably won’t sway them.

I'm not sure I would be going that far for an 80 cap gig. What is it? A private function of ticketed public affair?

Let me know how you get on. Would be nice to know how it stacks up against the Octabvre, which I’m pretty much given up on getting any time soon.

NBD - Unexpected Ken Smith BSR 4WT purchase
hiram.k.hackenbacker replied to hiram.k.hackenbacker's topic in Bass Guitars
Used the Ken Smith for the first time through my gig rig last night and what a bass it is. I’m very impressed by the three band pre-amp which is extremely flexible. Nice and light, balances very well and has a really nice feel in the neck. I’m very tempted to go for a 5 string version.- 22 replies

A Tale of International Shipping
hiram.k.hackenbacker replied to hiram.k.hackenbacker's topic in General Discussion
Very much so. The buyer and I in this case narrowed it down to few codes it could be and just picked one hoping for the best. UPS Brokerage didn’t question it further once we chose the code, but refused to release until they had the details on the MoP. -

Re point 3 - I disagree. I didn't even know harmonisation codes existed. If the shipping agent doesn't highlight the requirement anywhere (they didn't), how is anyone supposed to know that one is required? At the very least there should have been a box somewhere in the booking process that I had to fill in; the type of box that does not allow further progress unless you complete. I really don't think that would be too much to ask. Re point 4 - I don't think that sets them apart. All couriers become largely useless when anything goes wrong. Re point 5 - I did. -

Yes, that definitely played into our favour. Can you imagine getting that info from a mass production manufacturer.
