  1. Thanks Kev. That is generally what I thought regarding the custom build/wait time. For a bass that is going to cost what it does, the wait time shouldn't really come into it. Your thoughts regarding wenge are much appreciated 👍
  2. I created a topic in General Discussion as well, but I’ll paste it here to copy those who follow Dingwall: I’ve put a deposit down on a Dingwall. I opted for a Wenge neck to go with the Wenge fingerboard rather than the maple neck. I think it would look better with a Wenge neck and I’m also led to believe it would have a more compressed/grindy sound compared to the Maple which I’m just fine with. It appears that if I commit to the Wenge neck it will push delivery towards the end of 2020 and if I revert back to Maple (which I could have blacked out anyway) then it would bring delivery forward significantly. I have to admit that the Wenge neck was an afterthought, but once I had considered the option, I really fancied it. I’ve not had the opportunity to play a Dingwall with a Wenge neck so I’m now wondering what I should do. I’m not in any rush to get the bass, I’m just wondering other than the difference in look, would the wait be worth it?
  3. I’ll post this in Dingwall Bass Porn as well, but would like opinions on this please if possible. I’ve put a deposit down on a Dingwall. 4. I’ve just completed my second sale using Eurosender (via DPD). I removed the gap in the post code this time (😜) and it has arrived at its destination (UK to UK) in record time (less than 24 hours). Happy buyer & happy seller, albeit suffering slightly from sellers remorse.
  5. Can’t share pictures as it hasn’t been built yet. It’s blue and it’s got 5 strings 😜
  6. I’ve just dumped myself unceremoniously out of the 2020 challenge with a deposit now down in a new Dingwall. In fairness to myself, I have sold three basses this year, so I think it was inevitable 😎
  7. I’ve just realised I’ve dumped myself out of the GAS Challenge 2020 😬
  8. I might have accidentally put deposit down on another Dingwall 😎.
  9. Anyone had a £1 max selling offer from eBay this weekend?

Yeah, I’m sure they used to do it at Easter

I was expecting one too. I think they've realised that a) people are using Ebay to sell a lot more because of lockdown and collection only-friendly options are a no no (such as Gumtree) at the moment, and b) people are wanting/needing to sell more.

Possibly a bit disingenuous but clever commercial sense

Yes, that was my first thought. I've ended everything above £10. They can wait.

  10. Agreed with pretty much all that has been said. There are a couple of overpriced basses I can think of here that get listed over and over again with a new thread every time. Also, there are a couple of sellers that can barely string a couple of decent sentences together to encourage a sale. Basschat's general answer to this is they get ignored and quite rightly so. It's not exclusive to Basschat by any stretch either.
  11. Ooh, I do like a Monarch. My one doesn’t need performance enhancing drugs 😂
  12. There’s a pre-owned one on The Bass Gallery’s website at the moment, but the spec is a little sparse. I think I would want to know a little more about it and give it a test drive before jumping in. Not likely at the moment unfortunately.
  13. Having watched many of Mr.Clayton’s videos, I now have an unexpected and compelling urge to get a Zon Sonus. I know nothing about them, how much they cost and what their spec are, but his just sounds so good. Yes, I know it’s all in his hands 😜
  14. I don't think anyone is policing it, but the danger is that since the PO changed their policy to no batteries, if (and that's a big IF) the package is found to have any, particularly if its an international package, you may well find it won't arrive where it's supposed to. So basically, it's not worth the risk. If this Dingwall hasn't been out of the box since leaving the factory, that may well be why it doesn't have a battery.
  15. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me though. His You Tube channel hasn't been up long and it has over 11k subscribers already. I'm still not sure which of the Leland Sklar pages on FB is actually his. I'll assume it's the one with 83k. Give it a little more time and the YT channel will be right up there. Wish he would just carry on putting them on YT.
  16. Yes, I saw that. I'm not sure why that prohibits his posting videos on You Tube though. I'm also not sure which FB account is his official one. The ones I follow seems to be working.
  17. You definitely bought the best colour @Clarky 👍.
  18. It wasn’t the one that was for sale at The Gallery by any chance was it? I was looking at that to get the matching set 😀.
  19. Precisely the reasons I bought it/exactly why I shouldn’t sell it. I can’t put it on hold yet as no money has changed hands, but it looks like it may be spoken for. I will update as soon as I can confirm it. Sellers remorse is setting in already ☹️
  20. Probably the sort of discussion I would do well not to look at if I want to keep it up for sale 😂
  21. Yes, it's a lovely example mate. It was a toss up between about four or five Stingrays over which one was up next. I'm sure it will make someone else very happy.
