  1. Nope. That's flippin' horrid. Wouldn't give it houseroom. Way overpriced for what it is. I recommend no-one buys one. (he says searching through phone contacts to message friend who works in well known guitar emporium 😂)
  2. Ah, see, I did choose my words carefully. I didn't say that Status, I said a Status 😂.
  3. Ha ha. Tell you what, you send that Marcus Miller over to me and I’ll send you a Status 😜
  4. It is indeed. I should have taken a full length photo 😬
  5. It's bleak drizzly day in Essex, so I decided to go right to the back of 'the room' and say hello to a few friends I haven't seen in a while. I had forgotten what a lovely bass this early Empathy is. It was my #1 back in the day, before I got hooked on Stingrays, but still plays like a dream. It has an almost unbelievably low action with no buzz and can be relied upon to stay tuned. I feel lucky to have stumbled across it when I did.
  6. You may well be right. I’m new to the world of Spector basses having only just taken possession of my first, but the inclusion of the Darkglass pre combined with the price they are asking, could be the reason it’s still there. Nice looking bass tho.
  7. I thought it might be, just thought I would check. Thanks.
  8. Is the headstock colour and back of the neck black or brown?
  9. Bit harsh, but I do wonder what real difference there is between a team built P and a master built P to justify the price.
  10. Thanks for your thoughts Dan. I have an itch for a P and was looking at Moollon amongst others. I wonder if Jon would consider doing one with a slightly narrower nut? It doesn’t actually say in the spec on the site, but I would presume the JJ is mid 43-ish?
  11. I’ve been looking at the Shuker web site this morning and reading the spec on that JJ Carbonlite model. Have you had your hands on one? It’s an expensive way to buy a P bass, but given the weight and balance in its design, the price tag isn’t actually that bad.
  12. I'm sure we've been here before with a similar 'raffle'. Didn't end well as I recall.
  13. Tim is the custodian of the aforementioned website 'Scratch-It Scratchplates'. Jolly nice chap he is too.
  14. If ‘pickguard’ is the way forward, someone should probably let Tim know.... https://www.originalscratchplates.com
  15. You need to have a word Andy. Unless you keep lots of menus in your glove compartment, ‘drop down’ is not a suitable nomenclature. Pretty sure ‘scratch guard’ is a thing, just not what your mate is referring to. Choc? Yep, that’s just wrong 😂 EDIT: I think ‘Choccy’ is acceptable though?
  16. I hadn’t noticed that. Remarkable really given the time I spend trawling through the sales sections 😂. I have noticed a recurrence of the trend of removing details of an item once sold (again).
  17. Agreed. Troy is a helluva bass player and a massive Rush geek. This was the first song I learned from his channel. He has since re-done it....
  18. Nat. Broken foot. Query broken hand. Requires surgery on her hip. She’s OK. Hospital messed her about a bit with the x-rays. Car is a write off though. Happened a few weeks ago, so no immediate cause for concern. Just need to get her fixed 😀
