1. My bitsa has an American Special Jazz neck with, obviously, a Fender Jazz decal on it. I've certainly considered having that changed to a Precision decal. But my previous Squier bitsas were left badged as Squier. It was always great to see people's reactions when they played these, they were way better than expected, every time. So why bother to swap? However, I did put a TV logo on an otherwise bare Allparts neck that my bitsa previously wore, as blank was too...blank.
2. Slightly more MOR gig in s conservative club. All good, they like us, and we have some more booked for the year.
3. Amazing gig at the Bull's Head in Callington, Cornwall. It was so crowded, people basically couldn't get in! Suspect the rest of Callington was empty... Band played well, too loud as usual, but a fabulous time was had by all!

5. Just learning GYOW for a side project audition. Great song.
6. We started as a trio, then became a quartet. On occasions, due to diary clashes, we revert to a trio. Those are my favourite gigs!
7. Welcome! Scary where the time goes, isn't it?
8. One thing to check on any p that hums slightly is that one pickup half is not rotated. Fixed a couple like that...
9. I've an American Special Jazz neck on my bitsa. It has the rods. The truss has never been adjusted, not even on installation. I just checked it wasn't loose, screwed it to the body and refitted the old TI Jazz Flats that were still attached to the bridge. That was early 2015, and nothing has been touched since. I'm dreading having to change the strings!
10. Birthday party at an out-in-the-sticks social club in Cornwall. Good crowd spoiled by one or two falling down drunks and girls that want to sing and try and snatch the mic. Front man doesn't mind, but I do! Otherwise very good.
11. Welcome! I know zilch about the grades, so can't help there. Although from Essex, almost all of my extended family live in and around Lincoln these days. What's the music scene like up there?
12. The Kingman may not be a looker, but they have fabulous necks if you like Jazz necks. Mine easily blew my £1500 Warwick Alien into the weeds.
13. Go three-piece! Wish we could go back permanently!
14. 64, and don't gig enough! I do find it hard, and arthritis certainly doesn't help, but 4 to 8 gigs a month is fine. I'd possibly do more if they were available.
15.
Any teacher worth their salt would have no problem with this. Plenty of my students have no aspiration to play in a band. Not inclined or simply wouldn't have the time to devote to it. They get the same 110% from me every lesson.
Nonetheless, the few lessons I took were utterly dependent on the fact of being a performing player. And this was with a nationally recognised organisation. Doing it for pure self interest would have lost me my place on the course. EDIT: I would dearly love to have a shedload of 1-2-1 lessons - not dissing the idea at all!
16.
Being in a band is work. Whether you get paid for it or not. You are producing a service with your labour. No discussion. Whether you see it as difficult or hard work is another thing entirely. But it is work.
Yup.
