  2. So nice people are enjoying their Monzas, I had a funk /soul gig in a very large wine bar in Redhill a couple of weeks ago, full band , 3 piece brass section, all full on! Decided to use just one of mine rather than two because it wasn’t the easiest load in/out. Used with my puma 900 it absolutely ate it. It’s lovely when you have total confidence in your set up. .‘Appy days!! 😊
  3. ***Price reduced*** A rare premium Ibanez sound gear 6 string bass guitar. Made in Indonesia. If you are looking at this, you know how good they are! this one comes with the original hardcase, a strap and the manual. I tried to take enough photos to show some bumps but the neck is perfect and playability is superb. Strung with flatwounds so no need to ever change them! Reason for selling is only because 4 strings is more than enough for me and I am doing a clear out! Collection only! No trades unfortunately...
  4. My Zoom V3 hasn't arrived yet (due tomorrow) but I thought I should spend some advance time trawling YouTube for reviews, demonstrations, and 'how to' videos. What an absolute hoot. For most of the gear I've bought in the last few years I've done the same, and I've become used to slick, informative videos prepared by professionals ... I simply wasn't ready for the torrent of amateurish dreck that was waiting for me. Ignoring the occasional video clearly created & narrated entirely by AI (very easy to spot still, though that will change), the dozen or so videos I've checked fall into three main camps: I can't sing and I have very little idea of what I'm doing but hey, listen to the funny noises it makes; I don't have any musical gear to use alongside it so my demos are all pointless but hey, listen to the funny noises it makes; I am running my "channel" on such a tight budget that I'm having to route a vocal effects processor through a bass amp (srsly - I'm not making this up) but hey, listen to the funny noises it makes. None of these presenters seem to have any live performance experience or knowledge of what use a live performer might have for this sort of pedal. One guy representing a big music store in NYC genuinely suggested that people should buy this pedal because "it's kinda fun to have around". Not so much an Influencer as a Flatulencer.
  5. If only it had another string! GLWTS

  8. Regarding ticket prices in general , when I did go to gigs I always went for the most expensive ticket whenever I could . When I saw Rush at the London o2 clockwork angels tour , I had to let my friend get the tickets . I told him to buy the dearest ..but he purchased the slightly cheaper ones. This meant that although at ground level , we could only see half of the backing orchestra 🤦‍♂️Idiot ! My last time seeing Rush 😮‍💨🙂
  9. Hi, Sorry for the late reply (vacation)... Yes, it's the same. I'm located in Germany.
  10. Yes, me too, but Rush are one of the few I make an exception for. Plus, I made the effort to get early access reducing the damage slightly.
  11. Ahh thats a tempting beauty. I'm only round the corner too. Damn.
  12. Today
  13. I have one fitted to my Streamer Stage 1. There is a spacer in between the rear of the headstock and the back plate of the lever mechanism. The spacer shifts the lever a few mm away from the headstock so it can be deployed without any interference from the neck or headstock. The tuners are fitted in the normal position for a Warwick bass.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Am I right I thinking that the Akai doesn't have full sized keys? I'm guessing from the replies above that this isn't much of an issue though. I think I've got one of the Icon models on my Ebay watch list but wasn't sure what they were like so I might pull the trigger on that one. The Midiplus one sounds good too. Lots of options then - thank you once again.
  15. This stereo pedal has three distortion types, can save up to 3 presets as it is without any additional gear. It can, of course, be used with the Neuro hub etc and MIDI for maximum control and maaaany more presets, but I never really explored that, the pedal does all I wanted as it stands. The Neuro app, however, is very handy, as it gives you access to many parameters. The way I used it was to create the basic overdrive/fuzz sounds using the app, and then just rely on the unit's physical controls to adjust drive, blend etc to taste. It's essentially 3 dirt pedals in one, and you can modify each until you are bored . It can run two of the distortion engines simultaneously, and blend them, stack them, or output them in stereo. It can do too many things to mention, so if you're not familiar with the Aftershock it's probably best to have a look at this: https://www.sourceaudio.net/aftershock-bass-distortion.html and this (the demo focus a bit too much on the higher gain sounds, but it's excellend at low gain sounds too): It has heavy duty 3MM velcro on the bottom, which of course can be removed. The original rubber feet were never installed and are included, as well as the cable to connect it to your phone to use the Neuro app, which gives you access to a huge array of parameters.
  16. I bought this a while ago but then I changed my mind and it was too late to return it See all details about the preamp here: https://www.darkglass.com/en-gb/pages/tone-capsule-manual and here: https://www.darkglass.com/en-gb/products/tone-capsule Basically, it's a 3-band with lows at 70Hz, low mids at 500Hz and high mids at 2.8KHz with very easy wiring assembly.

  19. Classic bass synth pedal. It's seen a lot of action and has a few scuffs to show it, but it's only cosmetic. https://www.boss.info/us/products/syb-5/
  20. 😮‍💨 I’m so glad I’ve stopped going to big events like this . This would infuriate me if I was interested .
  21. Independently footswitchable clean boost + VLE ('vintage loudspeaker emulation' low pass filter) and VPF ('variable pre-shape filter', a bit like a 'contour' control, scooping mids while boosting low/highs). Standard TS output plus balanced DI output (XLR). Original MarkBass power supply included (but it works fine on standard 9V supplies - I used it for years with a T-Rex Junior supply, you just get a bit more headroom if powered with 12V) Bypass can be buffered or true-bypass (switch at the bottom). It can work very well as a way to split the signal into FOH and an independent IEM rig or backline.

  22. I'm booked to see the London Concert Orchestra soon and I'm buzzing! There will always be more local bands than orchestras - classical music takes a huge amount of coordination! Neoclassical artists like Ólafur Arnalds and Hania Rani are really popular with the young folk. A big part of the appeal is that you can really hear the hammers, felt and pedals in Ólafur's piano - a mix of really close mics and room mics to accentuate the fact that it's a real instrument being played in a real space.
  23. 2nd Gen Focusrite Solo USB interface, 2-in/2-out. Can be powered directly via USB. Great condition, light home use only.
