  5. My final foray into modelling/digital rigs (for now)... this has been my favourite but that world is just not for me. Used for 3 shows and well looked after! Comes with a far tougher power supply (original included). Price includes UK shipping, collection welcome or I may well be coming near you! The only thing i'd consider in trade at the moment is an Ashdown CTM30 as i miss mine dearly!

  7. I'm using Labella Flats on my 71 Jazz , very smooth I never tried the old Sadowsky Blue flats but I have a New set on my Tobias and very good indeed I liked GHS flats on a fretless Jazz I had.
  8. Hi David, Is the bass still up for sale?
  9. Thank you for posting that. Jo built an amp for me last year.
  10. I take it they would be ok with a bass with an active pre amp ? cheers J
  11. The Yamaha is half the price of the Bose . lighter and louder by a noticeable amount . There is a BTR model that has a battery included so can run without mains . About another £60 . It has a yamaha bag available or aftermarket from Terralec . I bought aftermarket for £20 and it fits perfectly .
  12. OMG 😲
  13. I hadn't consciously noticed this but I've been combing the classifieds for a while now and it checks out! I'm actually on the lookout for some cabs myself since my rehearsal space has two mismatched and rather knackered old boxes, a Warwick 4x10 and a Laney 1x15 and one of them is definitely blown since it makes an odd farty sound when I play hard with my distortion pedal on. It's a buyer's market these days it seems! Especially if you're not so bothered about lugging around heavy gear - my 90s Peavey head is heavy enough as is! Plus most venues we get offered to play have their own cabs these days.
  14. Hey @simondee we had a similar problem, no one having used IEMs as a band, so we came up with this simple solution * a single mixer/splitter box (2 x vocal mics, 2 x drum mics, guitar, bass) outputting a common stereo mix * a single multi-headphone amp, outputting the same mix, but everyone controls their own volume We added individual headphone amps to each person (£15) so they can add "more of me". More here......
  15. I had a Rivoli , and regret selling it . I have a big orange 5123B , with TVJones pickups. It has a deep woody tone that is rich and articulate. Best sounding hollow body I’ve found.
  16. I bet that weighs a ton!
  17. Man, i'd buy this in a heartbeat if i wasn't in the Netherlands. What a beauty.
  18. Recently gone down the rabbit hole of rack mount gear since i got an ashdown AAE-CTM preamp. I'm now gassing for the Nomad bassman preamp since that has everything i would want in a tidy unit. Fingers crossed one pops up. I'll post some pictures soon
  19. Except a Gibson EB2 or EPIPHONE Rivoli, the mudbucker blasts everything!
  20. There’s nothing quite like a big hollow body Gretsch.
  21. Hi all, I'm selling my Radial Bigshot I/O, as I've managed to acquire an EBS Microbass which does much the same kind of thing. Excellent condition and full working order, without original box. Looking for £80 £70 posted in the UK, or collection from Leeds https://www.radialeng.com/product/bigshot-io

  22. I’ve just made the switch to a Handbox RA400 amp and therefore this little gem can go up for sale (she said). It’s a cracking 800 Watt Class-D amp that weighs under 2 kilos (or 4 lbs, if you’re as old as me), in extremely good condition. I’ve used it with my BareFaced SuperTwin for about 12 months, and never had it past noon on the Master Volume switch. Despite the dinky size, it kept up admirably with our drummer, but that’s another story. To be totally honest, I found the best sounds came from having all the dials at noon, with maybe a slight bit more on the Gain. Also, the three options on the Amp Voice Switch (Modern, Warm and Q-Tube) are all very useable. It has done about 25 gigs in a variety of settings (pubs, clubs, the usual) and has performed perfectly and without fault, and even drawn the odd bit of tonal praise too from occasional discerning punters who know their stuff. I picked up a new padded Boss case to protect it for c. £40, and that’s in with the sale too, as is a mains lead. New, these cost £699 from Thomann. There’s a nifty and very favourable review on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/YVm8OVBIR2Q and the other views on the web are all pretty darn good too, and rightly so. The manufacturer’s blurb is here: Bass Block V803 – Quilter Laboratories I’ll include insured shipping to any mainland UK address (or pop in if you’re local to Minehead, Somerset, and give it a try out at Chez Noakes) No trades, peeps.

  24. This is useful, thanks, I’m not competing with a drummer so I don’t need mega volume and will be used on the floor. The Bose I liked as it’s portable and you can get carry bags and so on. I also like the Yamaha too. Hmm.
