  2. Phil Jones Bighead Pro HA2 for sale. Bought from new from Bassdirect and had it about a year I think. Looking for £200 £180. I'm based in Cambridge. I will include postage. Here is some detail about the unit plus a photo or two and a link to a Youtube video. Mobile High Performance Multi-Function Headphone Amplifier/Digital Audio Interface The HA-2 is the second model in the Bighead series and is a step up model of the popular HA-1 Bighead with added technology and features. The HA-2 is a high resolution USB audio interface that supports PCM playback with up to 384 KHz sample rate/24 bit resolution. On DSD playback, sample rates of 2.822MHzand 5.644 MHz are supported, making it the ideal choice for musicians and engineers that desire high performance and the purest sound quality. It is a rechargeable lithium ion dynamo that is ideal for use in practice or recording situations. It also functions as a headphone booster amp as well as a preamp to drive powered amplifiers. The HA-2 has both passive and active instrument inputs with a 2 band EQ that is ideal for guitar and bass, yet versatile enough for use with other instruments. It has an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery that is fed by its USB jack, so any computer or appropriate cell phone charger can charge it in less than 3 hours, but it can play for up to 8 hours. 4. Thanks .. no idea re T/S specs ?
  5. Great day in the workshop today. @HeadlessBassist popped over to collect his bass and we finally got to hear it properly through my Blackstar Unity 500 combo. Up to now I’d only heard it through headphones and already thought it sounded sublime… but through the combo? Superb. Genuinely one of those moments where you stop playing and just look at each other. For a passive Jazz it sounded almost active — but there isn’t a battery anywhere near it. Big, thumpy low end, proper growl when you dig in, and a clarity that just sits right. Soloing the rear pickup was a bit of a revelation too — loads of honk and that almost-slap snap even when played fingerstyle. Properly responsive and alive. Hopefully @headlessbassist will add some sound clips at some point, as he’s much better at that stuff than I am 😄 I honestly think it shocked both of us how good it was — always a nice surprise when a build exceeds expectations, even when you’re hoping it will. Cracking way to end the day.
  6. Nice crowd! Daryl

  9. The room looks packed. Nice Daryl
  10. From what I’ve read, both Direct Drive & Belt Drive have pros & cons. Direct drive is more stable, but there can be vibrations from the motor. Belt drive reduces motor vibration, but can be less stable (especially if the belt hasn’t been changed for a while. Technics’ ΔΣ-Drive on the GR2 & G models are coreless, which they say is “designed to seamlessly eliminate even the tiniest vibrations originating from the motor.”, so it should be the best of both worlds.🙂
  11. Possibly for the first time in over 5 years, no purchases for me in Jan, not through lack of trying though - I just haven't found anything that made me need it.
  12. Offers around £100 will be accepted.
  13. Same here, in my Kentish local authority. I think that Thames Water also give us a two-month payment holiday too. I may need to buy a better set of in-ears Replacing my Linsoul ZS10s with some Shure AONIC 215 Wired earbuds. I find that the ZS10s distort when I give the B string some welly, whereas the Shures that I borrowed for a professional gig, were clear and strong. T2 fail? I also want an ipad, to run Song Select, because paper printouts don't really work in my current gig. T2 fail again?

  15. There's a 350W Tone Hammer already. I expect they used that.

  17. Bought this to practice through my laptop in a nice and portal fashion… barely used it, though it was handy being able to plug in essentially anywhere. Here’s what is said about this. The Apogee Jam X is a mobile guitar interface that will take your direct tone to a new level, thanks to its built-in analog compressor. Choose from three presets that respond to how much you drive the input gain. By applying compression before your virtual amp sim, you’ll find new life in your guitar tone. Or record clean. The choice is yours. Here are the following compression presets: 1. Smooth Leveller. (Lowest amount of compression) 2. Purple Squeeze (Medium amount of compression) 3. Vintage Blue Stomp (Aggressive amount of compression). Never Miss A Beat Stay in the rhythmic pocket with Blend mode. Allowing you to record with absolutely no vibe-killing latency (delay). Crank It Up Whether you’re monitoring as you play and record with your favourite app, or streaming music, the stereo output on Jam X dramatically improves the playback quality of your audio. With high-resolution sample rates up to 96k and ample headroom, Jam X delivers clarity and plenty of volume to your headphones or powered speakers. Highlights PureDIGITAL connection for pristine sound quality. Built-In Analog Compressor with Three Presets. Up to 24 bit/96 kHz recording Works with guitar, bass, keyboards, synths or acoustic instruments with pickups. 1/4” instrument input. 1/8” output connects to headphones or powered speakers. Rugged metal body. Blend mode for zero latency recording. Based in Aberdeen.
  18. Did not dive deep into this EQ yet. Current feeling is that it puts a strong emphasis on the treble side and that it sounds somewhat cold and analytical.
  19. Pan Vol Push/pull: active/passive Low mids / high mids frequency may be changed by jumpers on the board Bass / treble Switch to toggle bass center frequency
  20. Warm Wet Circles - Marillion
  21. Apologies @BassTool - I'd completely missed this - I post so rarely these days that I inevitably forget about it when I do! That does look like a potentially neat solution, and as you say, is probably the only one there is.
  22. Hiding behind the sofa adding secret bass parts on your baritone? 😂
  23. Excellent, I shall measure shortly and if it doesn't fit I shall take it!
  24. I acquired a stan Clarke from bass chat before Xmas. Quality bit of kit. I've only done one gig with it, dB into A and eb into B. It will take a mike with phantom power too and is also a di box. Must say, being able to set independent gain and eq for both basses and then between songs, mute, swap basses, swap channels, unmute, play ( with no clinks or pops) is brill. The notch / HP filter is quite subtle. Our sound guy wants my bass through the pa so DI to the mixer and normal output to my little pjb flightcase for use as a stage monitor. Clean sound,no distortion, no hiss.
