Just bought one of these. Fantastic sounds for the price and editing amps, cabs and drives on the phone is a piece of cake (not as simple editing sounds on the device screen due to size but not awful).

@ped I've drawn a blank on the screw I'm afraid. Although on the plus side, I've realised how much vintage tat I have accumulated over the years, which I could probably sell !

Hi there, I'm an aspiring beginner bass player who's hesitant between picking a Squier Affinity PJ bass or an Ibanez Gio GSR200B. I have tried both at a local store, and I was surprised by just how big and heavy the Squier was (I'm on the skinny side). THe Ibanez felt way better in hand bc of its lower weight and thinner neck, and tbh, I enjoy the look with 2 knobs on each side of the head. I didn't really hear a difference in sound quality, but that's just me. What's holding me back is the fact that people say the Ibanez is "only for rock and metal" and that the Ibanez Gio's often have quality issues like fret buzz and warped necks. Can anyone testify whether or not these complaints are bs in the current year, and help me ove rmy decision fright? Thank you!

Some of you might recall that I recently bought a DeArmond Jet Star bass for the simple and highly frivolous reason that it made me laugh. Those who are familiar with the single pickup, long scale variant will also be aware of the decidedly bridgeward location of the pickup, leaving vast tracts of empty space on the body between the pickup and the neck. I think you know where this is heading. Well, a very nice chap in the States who makes YouTube videos (and occasionally posts on here - @Rib13Bass - shout out to you, bass brother) sent me a gift which arrived today... As Ozzy used to sing - what is this that stands before me? You gathered bass cognoscenti don't need me to tell you this is a pickup from a Peavey T-40/T-45. What is a person supposed to do with such a behemoth of a pickup? Oh, maybe something like this: So, the plan is to move the jack socket (currently front mounted) to the side to create a hole for the pickup selector switch. Will have to make a wee hole for a coil selector switch for the T-40 pickup. Oh and a big eff off hole for the T-40 pickup. T-40 pickup goes through the coil select switch, then onto the pickup selector switch, original pickup goes to the pickup selector switch, then the output of the pickup selector switch will be wired up to the existing harness at the volume pot. Easy as that! Now, where's my router...

Seems we’ve moved on from… This reminds me to call my offspring (we text a lot, but don’t chat much and she’s at the other end of the UK), I’ve been worried about her lately, she lives alone (cat notwithstanding) and hasn’t been involved with anyone for ages (at least to my knowledge), apparently, at her age, “They’re all mental, Dad,” and she can’t be doing with their shenanigans/baggage.

Which is a great attitude to have.

In today’s money, that’d cost around £880 (according to Google anyway), I call bargain. Looks great too.

I’m using pick 90% of the time but the Handbox WB-100 sounds great for both.

The WS-70 only has one button, so even an idiot like me can operate it. It's pretty much bassplayerproof!

Glad it's not just me!

After a year with mine im still getting the on/off buttons wrong. I just can't seem to get used to them and always seem to either press the Connect button or try and slide the correct one the wrong way (and I know you slide towards the jack).

I love 'em - I've got one on every pedalboard!

I'm using the Lekato WS-90 and I really like it. 5.8g, no (noticable (to me anyway)) latency, £35 brand new from ebay, decent battery life, no dropouts or interference (yet, touch wood), so simple even a Bass player can operate it (lliterally plug and play)... fantastic bit of kit. EDIT: Works fine with active Basses They are a bit ugly and stick-outy, but so am I and I do alright.

I did think that. Whether it is a 1979 or 1982 bass doesn't really matter to me as I bought it for less than £400 in 1999. It was the cheapest way that I could buy an American made Fender. At the time (late 1990s) the late seventies/early 1980s Fender Precisions were cheaper than the new American Standards. Any notional increase in value from the bass being a 1979 bass rather than a 1982 bass would be off-set by the damage of me playing it constantly for 26+ years and mostly storing it in a gig bag so it has cosmetic dings aplenty. It is very much a 'never sell' bass so if someone told me that it was a 1982 bass worth 'only' £1,200 or so rather than £1,500-£1,600 late seventies P-bass it would make no difference to me whatsoever.

Haha, not just me then! And yeah, very happy with it after rehearsal yesterday - we did a bit of recording, and it sounded great both live and on the recording, really clear and punchy. Rest of the band very impressed with it too, so happy days all round. Still need to double-check my starting position carefully every time, but we're getting there!
