Thanks Lemmy. The Entwhistle pickups are particularly cheap, definitely worth considering!

Bassistclem started following TC RH750 worst amp ever
-
Bought a brand new RH750 about 5 years ago after seeing good reviews and being very pleased with my Classic 450. After two gigs the knobs fell off (known issue) and now after only a handful of gigs ( use iem and no amp 95 percent of time) it lost power and sounds like 30w if that. Yes it had been cared for and carried on a padded case etc etc. Looking at comments now suggest it was never 750w anyway and many reports of unreliability. TC have now discontinued the range and probably with good reason, ruined their reputation to me, would avoid TC products, shame as they used to be world beaters. Terrible customer service, well zero as they never respond 😂.

All J pickups should have adjustable pole pieces IMO, been a few times where I've struggled with the A on a 5 string. Btw if the pole pieces on your existing pickups extend down below the bobbin base you may be able to tap them up to create a radius, I did this on my old Nordstrands (after getting the go ahead from the company) and it worked a treat. Entwistle pickups look to be adjustable if you're after for a cheap but good option, again I'd message them and check: https://entwistlepickups.com/alan-entwistle-bass-guitar-pickups/

There’s not really any point in further comments until you post a clear picture of the setup. It will be helpful to see a clear, top-down, image so that we can trace the cabling etc. Si

Probably one everybody knows but for tapping out tuner ferrules/bushings a suitable sized socket from a socket set is ideal. -

That's why I took it to my technician, who I've a good and long relationship with - she recommended changing the pickups and I'm happy to go with that I'll look into the DP123BK you mentioned though - as well as being locally available they're a chunk cheaper.

We once, when reattaching a radiator that had fallen off the wall, had to use a screw so long that we went through the wall into the next room.

Xvive A58 vs Fender Telepath Wireless systems.

Oh, that’s surprising. I know the Fender has a cable tone built in (like the boss system) but I’m sure that’s to reduce the top end. What did you end up getting? -

I bought the Fender, returned it after one rehearsal as it sapped a huge amount of low end from the sound. At home volume levels it sounded good, like some compression was added and just regulating the lows, but with the band it was like there was a filter removing anything from 120 and lower, took all of the oomph from the sound, and adding bass on the amp didn`t really solve it. Shame, it was a nice bit of kit and as BRX says easy to identify the transmitter/receiver - one of the reasons I bought it as middle aged eyesight needs all the help it can get.
