  3. Now you need to learn about room modes...
  4. Thank you Crazy Cloud for responding and sharing your experience with the BTB. Frankly, I'm starting to wonder why Low End Lobster (plus a couple of other not so well known 'Reviewers') had a moan about how uncomfortable the BTB he was reviewing (the BTB745 - one of the BTB's on my hit list). Is it really as bad as he says it is. I'm beginning to think maybe he's making something out of nothing? My problem is when there is no BTB for sale in any store within a couple of hundred miles I could just go visit and try out I don't want to fork out hundreds of £ ordering a white elephant !😂 Thank goodness for basschat ☺️
  5. Hi, I haven't had these for long (I used to own both these pedals many years ago, but bought them for the second time recently), but a recent change in musical direction has now made these obsolete. I have about 700€ invested in these and I' m looking to get back 650€ for them which seems reasonable considering the ridiculous prices the seperate pedals go for these days. I'm selling to fund some new hardware and onboard pre-amp for my main axe, so I'm not interested in trades this time, sorry.. Shipping from Belgium. Sales pitch: Up for sale is this magnificant duo of rare pedals made by Spencer at 3 Leaf Audio. The Proton is his take on the Mutron III filter and it doesn't get much funkier than this! The Doom is a unique sounding fuzz that is extremely dynamic and can get supersynthy. When combined these pedals offer a wide variety of funky and synthy sounding tones that are used by lany great artist that are looking to get someyhing "extra" out of their pedalboard (think of Stuart Zenders work with Jamiroquai, Tim Lefebre, Janek Gwizdala,...) Due to the very limited production these are very hard to come by and they keep going up in value, so finding a set like these two is quite a rare opportunity. Both pedals come with the original packaging and can be shipped worldwide. Kind regards, Don

  7. Everybody's Happy Nowadays - Buzzcocks
  8. Isn't that pretty much how GAK originated?
  9. I’m only happy when it rains. Garbage
  10. I used the Dynacord BS412 115 EV Combo in the 80's. It was a fantastic piece of kit but I had to sell it in the early 90's, I couldn't lift the thing any more. Even a dolly board didn't help.
  11. There is a lot that Felder hasn’t been credited for unless you dig deeper. Some of his work fitting around a complex arrangement such as on The Hues Corporation Love Corporation or Take a Melody. I think Hungate also gets missed out far too often as one of the greatest too.
  12. Because that is what defines an instrument. A Warwick with P pickups is a Warwick with P pickups and is not a Precision. A Precision with Music Man pickups is not a Music Man, and so on. The body shape defines the bass. If someone's been mucking about with the pickups, hardware etc, that doesn't change the definition.
  13. He played on some great records in the 60s/ early 70s, like Chris B I particularly enjoy The Jazz Crusaders music. But Jaco pushed bass playing further than anyone has and that started in the 70s.
  14. This album has some beautiful bass playing on it, pretty much all the way through. One of my all time favourites.
  15. Yesterday
  16. I first heard Wilton Felder in 1973, on the Crusaders album 2nd Crusade. I bought it the next day. . . . ps Click on the 1/9 on the right hand side of the screen to play the rest of the album.
  17. Lol, Low level fame is about the only fame I'm ever going to get. Daryl
  18. Mike bought my Waldorf Streichfett, great guy to deal with and extremely prompt payment and comms. A great Basschatter
  19. I read up on power supplies and went with Vitoos DD-12 , very good Boss OC-5 I still haven’t given it a full run through but I think a good option from Boss considering the scarcity and price of OC-2 by the look of it FKT AUDIO - “ The Fretless” think it’s a dumb name but this is an excellent pedal. I’m looking at other pedals in their range given how good this one is
  20. I'm looking at purchasing a Semi Hollow bass in the New Year. Far too many to chose from, anyone had experience with Hagstrom Viking?
  21. Great work, Jack. Were I not so feeble, old and decrepit, I'd treat myself to another proper bass cab'.
  22. I Can't Stand The Rain - Ann Peebles
  23. I fired the cab up in the rehearsal studio tonight and have some observations: 1 - It's very loud; when compared to my usual cab (Eden 2x15, no tweeter) using the same amp settings it gives noticeably more volume. 2 - Frequency response (or perceived frequency response) is very good; it maintains sweetness in the high end and it doesn't get overly clacky, even with the bass's tone control fully up. 3 - It's chuffing heavy; I've not weighed it, but it's somewhere between monolithic and made of the hears of collapsed stars. 4 - It's very responsive; even with my Cali76 Bass compressor in use the dynamics are pretty open, and when digging in it moves air around without hesitation, but when playing normally it stays pretty sweet. 5 - The bottom end is big and full but not woolly. 6 - It pairs well with my amp. All in all I'm very happy with how the project has turned out. Cheers, JRK
  24. I have an 846v (2020) and it's a great bass in all regards. I'm much more of an SR fan as I have several (note avatar) incl a new S/H one yesterday, but there are 3 BTBs I'd happily buy if one was local at a reasonable price even though I need another bass like a hole in the head. No, but I don't rest my forearm on the upper bout either.
