For sure. Just as Henry Ford did with the car production line (see longer post above).

Choose a 5 string bass for £500 (ish)

Yes, I have to agree Terry. I'm certain the dull flat brown finishes hasn't done their sales many favours. Having said that they've also cobbled together a handful of exciting finishes - the 805 being just one of them IMO Thank you for the link. Sadly I have no £1300 spare at present. Having just splashed out yesterday for a week in Egypt and this morning the Wife's SUV packed up only to be towed off to the local garage (when I say local I mean a 40 mile round trip which in Cornwall is considered as 'local') which sounds expensive 😥. Hence the £500 budget for now 😳Oh, and thank you for giving me the heads up on the Ibby together with the link 👍 -

I can see the appeal if you already own a valve amp, and are tired with cost of replacing valves. A CTM-300 would cost $900 for swapping out power tubes. Ouch. However, in the guitar world, swapping out the valves in your 40 year old Fender Deluxe Reverb that you've had for ages is a more manageable $300. You then have the solid state reliability with an EQ and layout which you've grown accustomed to and presumably love. You're still stuck with valve preamps/rectifiers, but solid state versions of those exist as well. Maybe. Sound demos sound good. I don't own a valve amp, so this isn't for me, but I'm happy it exists.

Yes it's a NAMM 2026 release. Andertons have one as per below link: https://www.andertons.co.uk/ibanez-btb805ms-fnl-5-string-multi-scale-bass-guitar-florid-natural-low-gloss/ Ibanez definitely could do with more exciting finishes like this in my opinion.

It’s not replacing anything, it’s changing how you go about doing something. Speeding up the process.

Ever fancied playing really low notes on double bass? This is the cheapest way to try it and be able to get back to pitch safely and efficiently. Works really well with a metal E string. I have now got a bass with a low C extension so it’s been gathering dust for a while. Still got the box, instructions and everything. Very easy to fit yourself. Will post at buyers expense.

I think this is an old Gear for Music case that they ship new instruments in. I bought it some years ago for £30 to put a bass on a truck for a tour. It has more than served its purpose and has taken up a corner of the house for too long now. It lost a handle along the way but is still functional. Please help me get some space back! (it wouldn’t let me put zero pounds)

Hi All, For my current build i would like to use magnets for the cavity cover. I would like to use 4 magnets. Does anyone know what would be a good size and strenght of the magnets to hold the cover but also not too hard to get is off? Any experiences with this? Thanks! Ron

That's basically replacing a key requirement of what it means to be a musician. Although it will be interesting if it can do that in real time with other musicians and then improvise.

I don’t think it’s something I’d get unless it glows like this

Yes, I do. I like it very much. Not sure which MS model it is though. An 805 in natural florid gloss perhaps ?
