Too heavy for me but probably a good deal :)

Is this really Japanese? The neck plate says Japan, but neck plates can be swapped.

Could be, but I don't think it's an Aria, despite the "ghost" logo - or if it is, it's a bitsa of some sort.

That's fine. Nobody is saying he's a rogue. He may be misguided or mistaken. Or he may know something we don't.

I just meant he ought to be easy to get hold of if you wanted to ask.

This is the same one that was on Ebay for £205 back in July (same naff-looking swapped black hardware). Sold on a best offer so presumably the current seller assumes that's a reasonable price.

Oo I've never see a fretless super headless before - think I might have a crack at this one!

Shiny SB600.

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item35f10dad59

(I'm mentally prepared for Jon to come along and tell me that it's not actually a SB-600 but some other obscure model, as often happens :)
I feel faintly guilty now! :( ;)

Anyway - I don't really have a particularly encyclopaedic knowledge of Arias. I can tell my SBs from my SB-Rs but beyond that I'd always recommend the great Mr Graeme Fyfe's Aria website. And acording to Graeme, it is indeed an SB600. That'll be a post '81 set-neck version, as a opposed to an earlier bolt-neck.

Don't feel guilty! It's a very important thing to correct errors so that people know what they are buying. I have frequently posted basses on here assuming that they are the model they are listed as, and they haven't been. I sort of rely on you to correct errors, otherwise it could be me that would be feeling guilty if someone bought something and found it wasn't what it was described as!

You're not alone. Jon's knowledge is invaluable and much respected.

Thank you Jon.

I was about to put my Westone Thunder 1A up for sale. I was also watching this one:

http://www.ebay.co.u...cvip=true&rt=nc

It's not as good as mine, but sold for £180.

That's really got me thinking... sell? Or put it in it's home-made hard case, made by the original owner and put it in the loft?

I don't need the cash, and mine is such a clean bass.

The question is; is keeping it an investment, or am I kidding myself?

It's interesting to look at the completed listings prices on Ebay for Westy Thunders right now. Typically, they've always been around the £150 mark, give or take, but lately sold prices seem to be a lot more random, varying from £70-odd up to £200+. Some of the BIN/Best Offer prices are ludicrous, although Ebay's always been full of chancers.

Not sure they'll ever make crazy money to be honest - maybe you should choose the third way - keep it and play it!

Doh! Where's the fun in that?!

I've got my new Quantum that requires being played, and the Warwicks, and ...

Such responsibility.

Cheers

Richard
