Other places I've looked want a set-up fee for a design before you've even bought anything. From browsing around their web-site it seems like they are printing directly onto the T-Shirt; which means the quality should be great. Cheers Stuart[/quote] Call 1st stop direct on 01277 811670 and ask for Frank or Steve. The actual screen printer (Steve) has been in bands for 30 years and knows the score. Reasonable prices, excellent quality shirts & prints. Looks like they still have an array of fairly high-profile customers so I would imagine they're still worth a look. We'll probably be getting a batch of new designs for the new album so I'll definitely have a close look at other recommendations. Jon. They do all sorts and if you time it right they chuck in all sorts of other stuff for free - we got 500 business cards done... never used them but it seemed a good idea at the time. Kraken Posted August 27, 2009 Share Posted August 27, 2009 I've always used a company in Lincoln called Running Imp, they were cheaper than anywhere else and did a good job on the screen print and used fruit of the loom t-shirts. haven't disappointed me yet. they tend to invoice for payment after though. Ordering more makes it more cost effective. Our Sax player's husband runs a print business. Very good quality shirts and print. I used a jpg and it looks like they put it on the shirt at 150dpi. The design is printed directly on the shirt using the colours in the jpg. I used a picture with a black background onto a black t-shirt and as the black of the jpg is different to the black of the t-shirt, you can see the border. I didn't take a screen shot of the screen after I finalised my design. I did scale the image but not by much and I can't be sure that it exactly matches what I submitted. I'm happy with the result. Been in the business for years and if you PM me I'm happy to discuss all sort of things related to screen printing. I source all sorts of shirts, and use all sorts of inks, I do the colour separation, and I pack them individually when they're ready which is great if they are to knock about on a tour bus. Now the more colours the design has, the higher the initial setup. So you want to keep the unit cost (t-shirt and print) under £5, that means: the larger the run, the more colours make sense. Of course, can also print some hoodies, aprons, and some banners such as covers for amp speakers using the same design (just made some cool A0 backdrops for Peyoti for President) . The cost for (IIRC) 20 shirts was £20 setup, £2/shirt print, £2-50 shirt - Fruit of the Loom valueweight shirts.
