1. Yeah go for it, cheers! Ive just ordered an enclosure and some diodes off that Doctor Tweek site, so i'll see how that enclosure is. Ive got a week off coming up too, so will try and get the pedal done then. My electronics skills are pretty rubbish at the moment, but things like this are a good way of picking things up quickly. Let me know how your build goes too!
2. Yeah that enclosure kit looks really good. After having a quick look on that site, i've now got a list of things to order when I get home tonight. So much easier then scrolling through Maplin too. Cheers for the link to that!
3. Thanks for the replies guys! I like the idea about buying a cheap commercial stomp box and using that. I'll bear that in mind about the Germanium diodes as well paul_5, even though i'm probably more deadly with a soldering iron at the moment
4. I dont know if this is the right forum for this, but i'm currently making my own distortion pedal, just as a little project to get my electronics back up to scratch, however I cant find a box to house the circuit in. Has anyone here ever made thier own stompboxes and knows where I can get the boxes from? Another question ive got is whether Germanium diodes are really that much smoother sounding distortion wise, then a Silicon one?
5. *Bump for price drop* Now £600 o.n.o
6. Cheers! Its a very versatile amp and extremely well built.
7. I traded my Sandberg JM4 with Col and everything went nice and smoothly (apart from getting stuck in traffic!) Everything was as described at his end and communication was good. All and all, an excellent guy to deal with, plus he made me a cup of tea!
8. Bump. Looking for Lightweight amps plus cash my way!
9.
by guitar you dont mean Fender 5 string P basses do you???
Fit another string on there and I may consider it
10.
Geoff. what are the neck dimensions? Nut width and depth? Cheers.
Hi Dave, The bass is 34" scale, with the Nut width at 39.5mm. The Nut depth (from top of nut to top of fretboard) is 3mm and the depth from the top of the nut to the back of the neck is ~34mm (as close as I could get using a ruler) The neck feels nice and fast to play! Cheers, Geoff
11. Probably because I came across as a noob by getting the bass weight wrong!
12. Boost your low mids and add a hint of distortion. That should help you cut through the mix and give you a little bit of growl.
13. Ok, I got myself on some scales and the weight is coming out at ~4Kg. Sorry about the mess up with weights above.
14. *Bump* Open to trades on Guitars. Looking at Gibson Les Pauls.
15. Some horrible silver Yamaha. It sounded boomy and the electronics kept giving up on me. Eventually me and my friends set it up in the back garden and fired mini paintballs at it.
16. This isnt going very well haha I dont actually have any scales at my place and had to search on the net for the weight of the Sandberg. Shipping weight came up as that, but I could be (and will probably be proven) wrong. Even if im not any good, this bass is!
