mikegatward Posted Thursday at 16:51 Posted Thursday at 16:51 Apologies if this is the wrong forum for the topic but here goes. I’m tasked with recording band gigs after our guitarist left the band. He was successful in recording from the XR18 to his laptop so I know the routing is all set up on the XR18 i’ll be using an iPad Pro and I downloaded Cubasis 3 and attempted to set everything up but I can’t get Cubasis to see the XR18. I suspect it’s the cabling and I’ve used an adapter I picked up on eBay. Maybe I need something else. is there someone out there who can help me ? - someone that has the same set up Thanks in advance Quote
JapanAxe Posted Thursday at 17:11 Posted Thursday at 17:11 Apple stuff is pretty good at seeing audio sources but if you’re not using an (overpriced) Apple cable then there’s a good chance it just won’t play. Quote
Steve Browning Posted Thursday at 17:27 Posted Thursday at 17:27 Is there a separate driver you need to download from Behringer? I seem to recall a specific driver is required. Quote

Steve Browning Posted Thursday at 17:43 Posted Thursday at 17:43 You could be right. There's only Windows drivers on the website. Quote
Woodinblack Posted Thursday at 18:41 Posted Thursday at 18:41 You shouldn't need a driver, you just have to connect to the iPad by USB and then core audio should see it. I don't know about cubasis but I assume it should see it if it is available. What sort of interface are you using? Quote

USB to usb c, into the dodgy eBay adapter, into a lightning to usb c adapter then a lightning to usb c adapter if I then power the dodgy eBay adapter with a lightning charger, the iPad seems to recognise it but it’s doesn’t charge it. i suspect the cable set up is wrong so a link to what I need to buy would be massively appreciated 😊 Quote
Hellzero Posted Thursday at 20:57 Posted Thursday at 20:57 (edited) I had the same issue with my Studiologic SL88 GT MK2 MIDI controller keyboard connected to an iPad, it only worked with the official Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter... https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/mw5m3zm/a/usb-c-digital-av-multiport-adapter There is the same adapter for Lightning should you need this version. Thanks for this - I can see they also sell on eBay for £20 to £25 Quote

dave_bass5 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago ive recorded a few of our gigs from our XR18 to Cubasis on my iPad Pro. In theory it should work well, no drivers needed and iPad picked up the XR18 instantly In practice Cubasis turned out to be a real POS and I won't touch it again. Before the first gig I had created a channel with the correct wiring etc. I duplicated this to end up with 14 channels, and yet only the first would accept the XR18 input. I had changed and double checked the others were set to receive input on different inputs. i had it all set up correctly, and yet I only got a recording from the iPads mic. Cubasis was showing all 14 channels were getting inputs from the mixer. Second time it did work, but it was touch and go. Third time I reused the previous project and got no input from the XR18 at all. I deleted all the channels and recreated them, and then it worked. These days I use Logic. I pay for it as and when I need it (it's on a per month subscription). Its got its issues as well, but its a lot more stable. Quote
