The battery went flat (my fault) and I wanted to check active mode worked after putting new batteries in

I knew that the passive mode does a fairly good jazz bass sound but switching to active with it’s totally separate tone control (para mid eq plus treble plus bass) you can get a fairly good p bass tone.
the levels are about the same, so I can switch the two sounds instantly using the active switch

and it’s a 5

A rationalist is a person or philosopher who believes that reason is the primary source of knowledge and the best test for truth, rather than emotion or sensory experience.

If @ghostwheel you had experienced my moment of joy at the discovery of two iconic bass sounds in one nice instrument you would not call me a rationalist

These are my settings, switch set to passive, three knobs to right are the active control (my p bass approximation)

hope this helps someone

two knobs to left are jazz bass approximation (tone is stacked on volume)

Sounds ideal as an all in one bass. Just need another one as backup……

But seriously it sounds great, ideal for a covers band and for studio work having both sounds at your fingertips.

Does anyone have experience of the 5 string version?

I have a v5 4 string, and love it, but I need another 5!

It's a V7 5 string @Geek99 was speaking of.

As @ghostwheel says. Please last line of post 1.
then go to the back of the class and write “I must pay attention” in italics 100 times. And no pudding for you…

Possibly - it was a reference to Pink Floyd and another Brick in the wall. The shouting teacher says it

How do you define a P tone? A bit warmer and mid focused than typical jazz?
