alyctes Posted Monday at 23:02 Posted Monday at 23:02 Personally I think it's both hideous and seriously overpriced, but I'm sure that's just me... I don't know how old it actually is, but it definitely has that 60s vibe to it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/376549673301?itmmeta=01K57SMEDVR45VFCG4WTP3D2TV&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAAwMHg7L1Zz0LA5DYYmRTS30mtQVSPNgxZajlUzTZPaSj5m1JCr2YHkIRmzPtEqOdzfF7QtUSpw3HVjaR3kovLsFHOdWFXUpgwuh5ulp46jZPpV6OH70uN5%2BuvbdfNZd61KUOCIDUhXBT64JO%2FQLvoDBLXo2EsyvaSO1dS267a%2Fjdyxp2PWJDhxx9TWxvN1TIkTQKhIFgn1sx3cGDPXIWiqx58kxxhRX43%2B5iUKSG40TdSfp37CQG4MTpFxPMprjD4Uw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5Ln0fmpZg Quote
tauzero Posted Tuesday at 00:36 Posted Tuesday at 00:36 I wouldn't call it hideous, but it does suffer from the fact that Les Paul came up with one of the most attractive guitar shapes ever and anything that bears a faint resemblance but is out of proportion seems really really wrong. Plus the control section of the scratchplate is truly horrendous. 2 Quote
BigRedX Posted Tuesday at 07:16 Posted Tuesday at 07:16 (edited) Unsurprisingly I like that a lot and if I had a spare €2000 and a use for a 4-string bass I might be making an offer. Made some time between 1963 and 1967 and originally costing 68,000 Lira. And in what looks like surprisingly good condition for a Wandré. All the ones I have seen in real life have been considerably worse for wear. More information on this Fetish Guitars web page. Edited Tuesday at 07:18 by BigRedX 3 Quote
Beedster Posted Tuesday at 08:23 Posted Tuesday at 08:23 …. sort of bass I’d expect to see Jack White playing Quote
Happy Jack Posted Tuesday at 12:27 Posted Tuesday at 12:27 That's just the sort of barking mad eccentricity that appeals to me. Quote

Burns-bass Posted Tuesday at 14:06 Posted Tuesday at 14:06 I've played this one and it's great! https://motomusic.co.uk/products/wandre-davoli-mini-bass-1960s-red?_pos=2&_psq=wandre&_ss=e&_v=1.0 2 Quote

Bassassin Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago That's really quite restrained & conservative for a Wandre. I've never found any of their designs particularly appealing but live in hope that, wonky-looking & tacky as they are, one day one will turn up at the car boot for a tenner. Quote
Cestrian Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I bought one, reasonably cheaply scouring the Italian equivalent of Gumtree. Impulse buy after seeing a video of the bass player in Sean Lennon’s old band playing one. Really distinctive sound, presumably mainly down to the aluminium neck. Quote
