Popular Post Roland Rock Posted Saturday at 23:32 Popular Post Posted Saturday at 23:32 My daughter was two years old when I joined Basschat, played her first gig last night at sixteen. She hasn't been playing long, but has picked it up remarkably quickly. Must be in the blood. Proud Dad moment. 54 Quote
Jackroadkill Posted yesterday at 08:26 Posted yesterday at 08:26 That's a superb picture - I'll bet you're very pleased. What sort of music is she playing? 1 Quote
chris_b Posted yesterday at 08:36 Posted yesterday at 08:36 5 string! She’s started off in the right direction. 1 Quote

AMV001 Posted yesterday at 09:05 Posted yesterday at 09:05 Congratulations. I know that feeling too. My daughter didn't pick up the bass until 19, so a bit of a late starter but she did her first gig only six months later. 1 Quote
miles'tone Posted yesterday at 09:14 Posted yesterday at 09:14 First gig at sixteen, playing a fiver and on the mic (singing?)...🤯 ...and the world was hers. 2 Quote

Hellzero Posted yesterday at 12:01 Posted yesterday at 12:01 Congratulations to her. Who said youngers aren't interested in picking up an instrument... Glad to see this and that she's also singing: wow! 1 Quote

SteveXFR Posted yesterday at 19:38 Posted yesterday at 19:38 (edited) In some cases, it's definitely not in the blood. My daughter is an awesome bassist. If I try really hard, I could almost be described as someone who can wear a bass. It's great watching your kids gigging. My daughter is always out gigging now. It's a very proud parent moment seeing a venue packed with people there to be entertained by your offspring and them having the best time absolutely smashing it. Keep encouraging them and supporting them. Here's XFR Jr playing at The Cheese And Grain in Frome with her band, Butane Skies. You can tell they're used to a smaller stage Edited yesterday at 20:34 by SteveXFR 9 Quote

Of course it failed, babies don't have the strength to cope with Thunderbird neck dive. If you'd used a Jazz bass back then, at the end of this month you'd be stood at the side of the stage watching them headline Glastonbury. Edited 17 hours ago by SteveXFR 4 Quote
