Fred Leicester Posted Wednesday at 19:13 Posted Wednesday at 19:13 Any recommendations for a relatively inexpensive but lightweight cabinet to use with my Ashdown EVO500? I’ve been using 2 x Hartke 4.5XLs for 25 years now, but they are backbreakingly heavy to lug around now I’m an old biddy. I’d honestly settle for one lightweight cabinet with fewer speakers and the ability to deal with my amp sufficiently now. Bestow your expertise upon me please, fellow Basschatters…. Quote
itu Posted Wednesday at 19:30 Posted Wednesday at 19:30 Barefaced, GR, alusonic... Something like 1x10", 1x12", 2x10", 2x12". 1 Quote
Lozz196 Posted Wednesday at 19:53 Posted Wednesday at 19:53 (edited) I’ve paired both Ashdown ABM600 and RM500 amps with Ashdown PRO NEO 210 cabs (they do 115s as well). If you like the Ashdown sound they’re def worth checking out, reasonably priced and light at about 13kg, plus as the cones (in the 210) are diagonally placed they’re a smaller footprint cab. Though having said that a new one will be more than a used Barefaced cab on here and the Barefaced would, I’m fairly sure, outperform the Ashdown. Edited Wednesday at 20:00 by Lozz196 1 Quote
cetera Posted Thursday at 10:58 Posted Thursday at 10:58 (edited) Inexpensive? Look out for a used GenzBenz Nx2x12 cab. Approx £350-£450, 600W, 4ohms. Job done. More expensive? LFSys Monaco 1x12. Fantastic cab. Edited yesterday at 08:44 by cetera 2 Quote
uk_lefty Posted Thursday at 18:32 Posted Thursday at 18:32 I use 2x Ashdown Pro Neo 15s with an ABM 600 head. Sometimes I only take a single cab. I used to use the Ashdown Rootmaster lightweight cabs too, both the fifteen and 2x10 versions, they're also good and very cheap second hand. 1 Quote
Chienmortbb Posted yesterday at 08:35 Posted yesterday at 08:35 What is the budget? The other question is, do you have any brand loyalty. If the thread goes on long enough you will end up with recommendations for every major bass cab known to man. As @taozero said above, The LFSys range could suit but similarly the Barefaced range get a lot of love too. However those long stretched arms will need to dig deep into your pockets for those. It is barely a secret the @stevis has been working on a new range and I know they are close. These will be lighter and lower power handling but two should do it. 2 Quote

Actually, I was trying to get him to buy my BC 112 Mk3 as it'll be cheaper than LFSys or Barefaced 😁 1 Quote

Probably under £300 - so more than likely something used to get the best bang for my buck. Quote
M@23 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I really liked my Rootmaster 210 cab. They turn up for bargain prices second hand. Lightweight, easy to carry with a good top side handle, really tight and punchy sound and loud enough. Quote
