All joking aside, a fretless Precision with maple board is a very special bass, surprisingly gutsy and powerful by comparison with the more usual rosewood and even ebony boards 👍

This is not what I want to hear! Get thee behind me, satan and all that.  The unbranded maple, fretless in post 3 keeps looking at me.

On topic I just found this…..

Bought the neck on eBay where it was advertised as ‘luthier built’; I suspect it was one of the new Chinese CNC luthiers, but it’s playable and stable. I got the body from BC. Pocket is not standard Fender length (width and depth are fine) so for the dots to line up with the notes you need to have a bridge with decently long intonation screws or mount the bridge a little closer to the PUP. Or do what I did and play by ear! This is NOT Warmoth quality, but is a decent intro to fretless and looks f***ing cool built up. £100 as is or £150 as a bass with Squier PUP, circuit, and tuners and generic BBOT bridge. I’d digout a pickguard also 👍

A lot of me just went “oooooh”

It is the bass equivalent of the Girl from Ipanema  ..... each one it passes goes 'aaaaah'

That is all sorts of lovely. If it ever goes on the block the little pants-off wrestling scene our Lancy friends have got going on might spread worldwide. Well, down South at the very least 🤣

Sold as a project in that I've yet to set it up fully as a bass, let's call it £500 including the DiMarzio DP-145 👍

It's VERY light also

And this which I will only sell as a project bass (i.e., not split) because it's going to be a stunner. I was going to mod a standard Precision guard and install a DiMarzio Precision PUP in the normal spot, but I'm still a little undecided and given I have two basses in the same tonal space I may just let one of the BC collective decide its fate
